You’ll take ownership of a large-scale AWS data platform powering analytics for thousands of hotels and restaurants worldwide. This is a hands-on role where your work directly impacts business decisions across the hospitality industry β€” not internal dashboards nobody uses.

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just build pipelines β€” but runs them, fixes them, and makes them bulletproof.

    About the Product

A hospitality technology company operating a data analytics platform serving:

    • 2,500+ hotels
    • 500+ restaurants

The system processes operational and performance data, delivering insights to product and analytics teams who rely on it daily.

    Your Mission

Own and operate the AWS data infrastructure:

    • Build scalable, production-grade data pipelines
    • Ensure reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency
    • Keep everything running smoothly in real production environments

This is not a β€œdesign slides and disappear” role β€” it’s real ownership of real data systems.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Data Engineering & Pipelines

    • Build and operate Spark / PySpark workloads on EMR and Glue
    • Design end-to-end pipelines:
API / DB / file ingestion β†’ transformation β†’ delivery to analytics consumers
    • Implement data validation, monitoring, and quality checks
    • Optimize pipelines for performance, cost, and scalability

    Infrastructure & Operations

    • Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform
    • Monitor via CloudWatch
    • Debug production failures and implement preventive solutions
    • Maintain IAM and security best practices

    Collaboration

    • Work closely with product and analytics teams
    • Define clear data contracts
    • Deliver reliable datasets for BI and analytics use cases

    Must-Have Experience

    • 5+ years of hands-on data engineering in production
(actual pipelines running in production, not only architecture work)
    • Strong Spark / PySpark
    • Advanced Python
    • Advanced SQL
    • AWS data stack: EMR, Glue, S3, Redshift (or similar), IAM, CloudWatch
    • Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
    • Experience debugging and stabilizing production data systems

    Nice to Have

    • Kafka or Kinesis (streaming)
    • Airflow or similar orchestration tools
    • Experience supporting BI tools and analytics teams

    What We Care About

    • You’ve handled pipeline failures in production β€” and learned from them
    • You prioritize data correctness, not just speed
    • You write maintainable, readable code
    • You understand AWS cost and scaling trade-offs
    • You avoid over-engineering β€” and ship what delivers value

    • Lead large technical initiatives end-to-end with minimal guidance
    • Troubleshoot and resolve high-severity, complex production issues
    • Continuously improve development velocity while maintaining exceptionally high reliability standards

    Why You Should Apply

This role is ideal for engineers who want real technical ownership, not just influence on paper.

    By joining them, you will:

    • Work on mission-critical, real-time systems deployed at massive scale
    • Tackle hard infrastructure problems involving networking, performance, concurrency, and reliability
    • Have genuine autonomy to design, build, and ship impactful solutions
    • Compete technically with top-tier big tech systems while retaining startup-level speed
    • Influence architecture decisions that directly affect thousands of real-world locations
    • Be part of a team that values deep technical excellence, resilience, and ownership

If you’re looking for a role where your experience truly matters - and where the problems are genuinely difficult - this is it.

    Qualifications

    • BSc in Software Development or equivalent industry experience
    • Previous experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer in a startup environment
    • 10+ years of Python development experience
    • Strong experience with Python Asyncio
    • Excellent software design and architecture skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Significant experience with at least one strongly typed language (Rust, C++, Go, Swift, Java, etc.)
    • Deep understanding of networking protocols and operating systems

    • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Helm
    • Experience working with multiple observability stacks
    • Strong LLM prompting skills, while also being effective without them
    • Experience with gRPC and gRPC troubleshooting
    • Contributor or maintainer of an open-source project

    Bonus Experience

    • Knowledge of WebRTC, STUN/TURN, SIP, RTP, HLS, or RTMP
    • Experience with Rust and PyO3
    • Audio or voice-related programming experience

    Qualities They’re Looking For

    • Fast - you aim to be a true 10x engineer, not just another senior profile
    • Resilient - comfortable balancing planned work with urgent, real-time issues
    • Clear communicator - able to write concise documentation and explain complex ideas
    • Strong problem solver with a systems-level mindset
    • Extreme ownership and independence
    • Ability to turn incomplete or ambiguous requirements into real products
    • A collaborative team player who raises the technical bar around them

If you’re passionate about AI, real-time systems, and backend development at scale, we’d love to hear from you!

    About Sprinterra
Sprinterra is a friendly and collaborative technology consulting company delivering software solutions for clients across finance, real estate, retail, and other industries. We work on diverse projects - from business process automation to complex enterprise platforms - giving our teams the opportunity to solve different challenges, learn new domains, and grow professionally. Our environment is open, supportive, and flexible: we value clear communication, personal ownership, and teamwork, and we encourage everyone to contribute ideas and help shape how we deliver projects.

    Position Overview
We are seeking a strong Business Analyst with Project Management experience (or ambition to move into PM) who can also participate in pre-sales activities and support early-stage client engagements. At Sprinterra, BAs play a key part in shaping our projects from requirements discovery and scope clarification to coordinating the team and supporting delivery.

You will work on small-to-mid-sized projects, ensuring that client needs are fully understood, clearly documented, and translated into actionable tasks for the development team. This role acts as the bridge between business goals and technical execution, helping the team stay aligned, organized, and focused on delivering high-quality results on time and within scope.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements through workshops, interviews, and stakeholder discussions.
    • Translate business needs into clear, structured artifacts (user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specs).
    • Work closely with designers, developers, and QA to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
    • Validate final deliverables to ensure they meet client expectations and align with defined requirements.
    • Manage scope, priorities, and delivery schedules for small-to-mid-size projects.
    • Facilitate sprint planning, daily syncs, backlog grooming, and release planning.
    • Track project risks, blockers, dependencies, and communicate them proactively to stakeholders.
    • Ensure documentation, tracking, and processes are maintained according to Sprinterra best practices.
    • Participate in early-stage discussions with potential clients to understand high-level needs and define the problem space.
    • Assist Sales in preparing proposals, estimates, project approaches, high-level scopes, and solution descriptions.
    • Occasionally support internal initiatives (AI adoption, documentation improvements, operational enhancements).

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
    • Experience on Team Lead or Project Manager position.
    • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, especially SCRUM (sprint ceremonies, backlog management, estimation practices, team collaboration).
    • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to break down complex problems, structure information, and propose practical solutions.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • High level of documentation competence: user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specs, diagrams, workflows, and client-facing materials.
    • Strong theoretical foundation in SDLC, requirements management, and product development principles with a genuine passion for continuous learning, reading, researching, and staying updated on industry best practices.
    • Ability to multitask and manage priorities across several teams or workstreams.
    • Experience coordinating with developers, QA, UX, and external stakeholders.
    • Self-organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
    • Fluent English (spoken and written) or higher - able to manage client communication confidently.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience working on projects in the financial or fintech industry - familiarity with regulatory environments, workflows, and financial terminology.
    • Technical background (understanding of APIs, data structures, basic system architecture) that supports effective communication with engineering teams.
    • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, or large-scale business applications.
    • Understanding of QA processes and ability to collaborate closely with QA engineers on test planning, acceptance criteria, and release readiness.
    • Experience working with UI/UX teams - ability to review wireframes, validate user flows, and ensure alignment between requirements and design.
