About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and mature Head of Infrastructure who will take on the leadership of MacPaw`s Site Reliability Service Team. The team ensures that the infrastructure meets the business needs of all products by providing expert services to other teams. We’re looking for a curious and motivated Junior AI/ML Engineer to join our team in building a document analysis and transaction classification system. 

This is a great opportunity to work on real-world financial text data, gain hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms, and start working with Large Language Models (LLMs) under the guidance of more experienced team members. You will also develop and maintain classic applications and APIs that serve your ML results to other systems. 

It’s a good chance to grow your machine learning skills, especially across classic algorithms (Decision Trees, Naive Bayes, etc.) and to gain exposure in training state-of-the-art Large Language Models (LLMs). 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and optimize machine learning models (e.g., Decision Trees, Naive Bayes, Logistic Regression) for transaction purpose classification. 

• Fine-tune large-language models 

• Design and implement robust data preprocessing pipelines to handle real-world financial text data. 

• Evaluate model performance using various metrics and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate your API with existing financial systems and data pipelines. 

• Stay up to date with emerging AI/ML and LLM technologies, demonstrating a basic understanding of data preparation, fine-tuning, and training processes for language models. 

• Document your designs, experiments, and REST API specifications, including clear versioning information for smooth collaboration. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Third-grade students would also be considered.

• Foundational experience with machine learning frameworks (such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch) and understanding of classic classification algorithms. 

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or similar) and familiarity with RESTful API development (e.g., Flask, FastAPI, Spring Boot). 

• Knowledge of software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control (Git), and unit testing. 

• Eagerness to learn and apply new techniques, especially around LLM fine-tuning and pipeline integration. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

We're working on a smart AI-powered analytics assistant for businesses. The tool connects to third-party data sources (like Shopify or Zendesk), builds a semantic data model automatically, and provides clear, context-aware answers directly in a chat interface — similar to ChatGPT. Users can easily generate visual reports, modify values, and access analytics without technical skills.

Think of it as a data interface built for simplicity — giving users instant access to complex insights through an intuitive and visual experience.

🧑‍💻 What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI for:
  • Admin panel 
  • Regular user interface
• Collaborating closely with our AI Developer and PM
• Validating solutions with our in-house technical lead to ensure feasibility
• Iterating based on feedback from stakeholders and adapting to technical constraints
• Participating in design reviews and product discussions with the CEO (client-side)
• Delivering a clean, modern interface suitable for investor presentations

🧠 What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design (preferably in data-heavy or dashboard-type products) 
• Experience in product design for enterprise clients
• Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, visual hierarchy, and smart UI decisions
• Proactivity and initiative: someone who can challenge decisions and propose improvements
• Experience working with technical constraints and in close contact with development teams
• Stress-resistant mindset: open to feedback and iteration (some elements may need rework)
• Upper-Intermediate English (spoken and written) for daily communication
