We are a small, focused team of Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) building and scaling automation frameworks that validate firmware platforms. Our mission is to ensure high-quality, reliable test coverage that supports product development at scale. We are currently building our lab infrastructure from the ground up, designing and deploying physical testing environments and devices, while establishing the supporting infrastructure that ensures automation runs smoothly and reliably across diverse platforms.
 

Job Summary
As the Lab Infrastructure Engineer, you will be the top-level technical expert responsible for ensuring our laboratory's scalability, reliability, and readiness for complex testing needs. This role is focused on designing and implementing advanced hardware and software lab solutions, automating infrastructure and configuration management, and resolving our most challenging technical issues.

Responsibilities and Duties

— Drive the design, architecture, and implementation of the lab infrastructure from scratch, taking full responsibility for the final result and proposing optimal solutions.

— Perform hands-on setup, maintenance, and optimization of test environments, which includes soldering of embedded components.

— Work closely with SDETs to enable efficient testing pipelines.

— Implement automation and orchestration for the hardware and software involved in lab operations.

— Identify bottlenecks, propose optimizations, and make the lab more reliable and scalable.

— Work on-site at one of our Kyiv laboratories.

Qualifications and Skills

— Proven experience in designing, implementing, and scaling on-premises infrastructure, including physical test devices and supporting systems.

— Strong expertise in Unix/Linux systems and networking fundamentals (LAN/Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, NAT) and robust network design.

— Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices, developing automation infrastructure frameworks, and support tools.

— Proficiency with orchestration and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).

— Soldering skills and basic understanding of PCB design and schematic.

— Practical experience with Raspberry Pi/Arduino for building and testing solutions.

— Advanced problem-solving abilities for complex hardware, software, and network issues, with a forward-thinking approach to suggesting lab infrastructure optimizations.

— The ability to take full ownership of lab operations and results, while actively partnering with SDETs and other teams to achieve shared goals.

— An Upper-Intermediate level in both written and spoken English (B2).

— Hands-on experience with Docker (exposure to Kubernetes is a plus).

— Experience with AWS or other cloud services.

We are seeking a Lead to guide the strategic direction of our lab, which integrates complex hardware setups, custom-built testing nodes, and robust automation frameworks. Our team focuses on delivering stable, scalable environments that empower development and QA teams to run critical tests with confidence, ensuring the quality of our mobile devices and firmware.
 

Job Summary
To achieve this mission of delivering stable, scalable environments, we are seeking a Lead Lab Infrastructure Engineer. In this role, you will take ownership of the planning, development, and operation of our testing laboratory. You’ll lead a small but highly skilled team of Lab Infrastructure Engineers, guiding them in building and maintaining the physical and virtual infrastructure that supports large-scale mobile and firmware testing.

Responsibilities and Duties

— Lead the lab's evolution, setting its strategic direction and ensuring alignment with business and engineering goals.

— Oversee the design, assembly, and configuration of physical test nodes, racks, and network topologies.

— Plan, implement, and maintain multiple testing environments across various automation domains, including mobile and firmware.

— Establish and enforce best practices for lab operations, including infrastructure orchestration, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement of monitoring systems across both lab and cloud environments.

— Collaborate with QA automation and cross-functional testing teams to deliver reliable test environments.

— Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex lab, device, or network issues.

— Work on-site at one of our Kyiv laboratories.

Qualifications and Skills

— Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and scaling on-premise infrastructure, including network equipment, physical servers, and single-board mini computers, and supporting systems.

— Experience in leadership roles, with a demonstrated ability to guide and mentor team members.

— Expertise in Unix/Linux systems, networking fundamentals (LAN/Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs), and physical lab infrastructure (assembly, configuration, maintenance).

— Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform/Terragrunt, configuration management tools such as Ansible (preferred), and CI/CD pipelines.

— Proficiency in scripting (Python is primary) and strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues.

— Experience with AWS services (IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS, ECS, SSM).

— An Upper-Intermediate level in both written and spoken English (B2).
