Our client is MilTech startup building an on-premises platform for automated annotation of UAV video and training computer vision models for autonomous flight.

We have a strategic partnership with one of the largest Ukrainian UAV manufacturers and access to what is likely the largest privately owned UAV video dataset in the world.

The company is at a very early stage — the funding is secured, the technical vision exists, and the data is available. Our focus now is building the core engineering team to turn this platform into reality.

The Role

We are looking for aComputer Vision / Machine Learning Engineer.

We are looking for  CV/ML Engineer to join as one of the first engineers on the team. You will work closely with the technical lead to build the ML pipeline from the ground up — implementing core components across data processing, model training, and deployment.

This is an early-stage startup, so the tech stack and processes are still being shaped. You will have real input into the tools and approaches we adopt, and your work will directly define how the platform operates. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, curious, and comfortable building things that don’t exist yet.
 

What You Will Work OnData Pipeline & Preprocessing

• Build video preprocessing pipelines: clip segmentation, frame extraction, scene detection, quality filtering
• Implement embedding extraction and data curation workflows for selecting diverse training subsets from a massive video corpus

• Train and evaluate computer vision models for object detection, classification, tracking, and segmentation

Active Learning & Annotation Support

• Implement auto-labeling pipelines with confidence-based routing

Edge Deployment

• Export and optimize models for inference on NVIDIA Jetson (ONNX, TensorRT, FP16/INT8quantization)
• Run accuracy and latency benchmarks on edge devices
• Help maintain the model delivery pipeline from training to deployment
   

Requirements Must Have

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision and deep learning
• Solid PyTorch skills — comfortable writing training loops, custom datasets, and model code
• Experience with at least one detection or segmentation framework (YOLO family, Detectron2, MMDetection, or similar)
• Understanding of model evaluation metrics (mAP, IoU, precision/recall)
• Familiarity with experiment tracking (MLflow, W&B, or similar)

Responsibilities:

What you'll work with: 

- Java 21 (Java 17 floor — we don't run anything older in production) 

- Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Web, Spring AOP 

- AWS (Lambda, ECS, IoT Core, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, RDS) 

- Microservices where they earn their keep, monoliths where they don't - A team of engineers who actually read your PRs

Responsibilities: 

- Design and implement components of production B2B systems 

- Design and implement REST APIs consumed by web, mobile, and edge devices 

- Write unit and integration tests (not optional, not an afterthought) 

- Review code from teammates

Requirements:
- Strong Java 17+ (concurrency, streams, records, pattern matching) 

- Solid Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem experience 

- Data structures and algorithms fundamentals 

- SQL (query writing, indexing basics, understanding execution plans) 

- Git, Maven or Gradle 

- Comfortable in a Linux shell (not "I once used Ubuntu") 

- Good spoken and written English — you'll talk to customers

Nice to have: 

- AWS experience (we cover certification costs, so this is learnable) 

- IoT / edge computing exposure 

- Experience with ERP, OMS, WMS, or accounting system integrations 

- Docker, basic CI/CD

Topics we usually cover:

- Data structures and algorithms basics. You won't be sorting anything, at least at this stage

- Network protocols basics (application, and transport levels)

- Data encryption basics (encryption, approaches, digital signatures, popular algorithms)

- Java (language basics, concurrency, streams, features from recent releases)

- English (you will have to answer some of the questions in English, so we understand you can communicate with English-speaking colleagues if needed)

- Databases (SQL basics)

- Working in a team (version control, peer reviews)
