Our client is looking for a Senior/Lead Backend Engineer to join their R&D team remotely. This role reports directly to the VP of R&D.

Location: Europe (remote)

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with the CTO and Tech Leaders to design and implement a rich product roadmap.
• Develop new product features and enhance existing ones.
• Mentor developers and support them in meeting product requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best development practices.
• Play a key role in architectural and design decisions.

What You Bring:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in C#/.NET backend development at product companies.
• Proven experience in e-commerce or related fields.
• A start-up mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Expertise in API integrations for complex software projects.
• Strong knowledge of MongoDB and other non-relational databases.
• Deep understanding of scalable architecture, microservices, and serverless solutions.
• Experience with backend monitoring and performance measurement tools.
• A team player with excellent communication skills.
• Passion for clean architecture, code quality, user experience, and performance.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Bonus Points:

• Experience as a Tech Lead, Architect, or CTO in a startup.
• Hands-on experience refactoring architectures with 100+ services.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (React/Node.js).
• Experience with CI/CD (GitHub/Azure preferred).
• Knowledge of low-code/no-code development platforms.
• Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.
• Understanding of effective logging strategies.
