About the Role

We are looking for a Retention Specialist who will take ownership of retaining the sports betting audience through a loyalty program, gamification, and event-driven and seasonal campaigns.

This is a full-cycle, hands-on role: you come up with the mechanics yourself, build them in Smartico (segments, journeys, bonuses, gamification), launch them, and analyze the results yourself.

An important part of the context: there is currently no direct lead overseeing this role, so no one will be assigning tasks to you. You will set your own priorities based on the sports calendar, retention metrics, and insights from the data. Later, a Lead of Sports Retention Tribe will join and you will become part of their team, but during the first few months, this role is best suited for someone who does not need daily management.

Vertical specifics: sports retention revolves around the sports calendar. IPL, World Championships, major tournaments, and other key events create peak periods that require preparation weeks in advance. Between these peaks, the audience needs to be retained through regular engagement mechanics. The ability to work effectively within this rhythm is at the core of the role.

Own the sports loyalty program: mechanics, tiers, rewards, and economics.

Work with sports audience segmentation based on RFM, activity, and lifecycle. Every campaign should have a clearly defined segment — no generic “send to everyone” campaigns.
Use control groups by default: campaign impact should be demonstrated through uplift, not just absolute numbers.
Run A/B tests of mechanics, offers, and communications.
Analytics & Reporting
Regularly monitor retention metrics for sports cohorts using Smartico Data Studio.
Conduct post-campaign analysis for every campaign, including engagement, uplift, bonus costs, and overall campaign economics.
Provide regular reporting to management on the performance of the sports vertical.

The bonus budget is managed at a higher level within the organization. You will plan campaign costs and justify their economics, while final approval remains with the manager.

Role Metrics
Sports cohort retention: D7/D30 redeposit rate among sports bettors.
Event activation: percentage of the user base engaged in event campaigns and their activity during peak periods.
Bonus cost efficiency: campaign uplift versus control groups and cost per retained player.
 

Requirements
2+ years of experience in Retention/CRM within iGaming, including mandatory hands-on experience specifically with the sports betting vertical. Be prepared to discuss 2–3 campaigns: the event, mechanics, target segment, and achieved uplift.
Hands-on experience working with a CRM platform. Smartico is a strong advantage; Optimove, Fast Track, and Symplify are also relevant. You should be comfortable working with segments, journeys, bonus mechanics, and gamification.
Strong understanding of the betting audience: what drives sports bettors, how their behavior differs from casino players, and how their engagement cycle is structured around sporting events.
Solid analytical foundation: cohort analysis, control groups, dashboard interpretation, and basic bonus economics.
High level of autonomy: ability to build your own work plan based on the sports calendar and performance metrics without relying on externally assigned tasks. This will be assessed through a case during the interview.
English: sufficient for reading documentation and handling day-to-day professional correspondence.
 

Nice to Have
Knowledge of the Indian market and cricket audience, particularly IPL as the key annual peak.
Experience launching or relaunching loyalty programs.
Experience with gamification modules such as tournaments, missions, and leaderboards.
Understanding of responsible gaming restrictions related to communications and bonuses.

Built and implemented an event calendar covering the next quarter.
Launched several full-cycle campaigns with post-campaign analysis and control groups.

Performance will be evaluated based on retention metrics and campaign uplift — not on the number of campaigns launched.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a senior design technology leader who has successfully built and implemented AI-first design and development workflows in a real production environment.

This is not a traditional Head of Design role, nor is the client looking for someone whose AI experience is limited to experimenting with new tools or improving individual designer productivity.

The core challenge is much more ambitious: redesigning how product design and development work together so that teams can move dramatically faster from idea → prototype → validated design → production-ready implementation.

The client has already explored different AI-assisted design approaches and tools. What they need now is someone who has gone beyond experimentation and has actually built systems, workflows, and operating models that work end to end.

You should be equally comfortable discussing design systems, product design workflows, frontend architecture, AI-assisted development, prototyping, and organizational change.

Your mission will be to help the client build an AI-native design organization where AI is embedded into the way products are designed and shipped, not simply added as another productivity tool.

What You'll Do

• Define and implement an AI-first design and development workflow across the client's product teams.
• Dramatically shorten the path from product idea to prototype, validated design, developer-ready implementation, and where appropriate, production-ready code.
• Build workflows that connect design tools, AI systems, design systems, component libraries, and real application code.
• Establish practical approaches for AI-assisted ideation, prototyping, UX exploration, UI generation, design-to-code, iteration, and implementation.
• Design systems and processes that allow designers and engineers to collaborate effectively in an AI-native environment.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging AI design and development tools based on production value rather than hype.
• Partner closely with design, product, and engineering leaders to identify bottlenecks and redesign how teams work.
• Help establish or evolve design systems that can be reliably translated into real product components.
• Create standards and guardrails that allow teams to move faster without sacrificing product quality, consistency, or maintainability.
• Coach designers and engineers on AI-native workflows and help drive adoption across teams.
• Measure the impact of these workflows on design and development speed, iteration cycles, and product delivery.

• What parts reached production?
• What measurable impact did it have on iteration speed or time from idea to production?

A compelling demo is useful. A workflow that a real team has successfully used to ship production software is much more important.

• Strong frontend engineering background.
• Experience as a Design Engineer, Design Technologist, Product Engineer, or similar hybrid design/engineering role.
• Experience building internal AI tools, agents, plugins, or automation for designers and developers.

Within this role, success means changing how the client's teams actually build products.

Designers should be able to explore and validate ideas faster. Engineers should receive higher-quality, more implementation-ready outputs. Design systems should connect more reliably to production code. Repetitive handoffs and manual work should decrease significantly.

Most importantly, AI-assisted workflows should become a real, repeatable part of how the organization ships software, not a collection of isolated experiments.

The result should be a measurable reduction in the time required to move from an idea to a high-quality product experience in production.
