Role Overview

As a Senior Back-end Engineer (Java) at Flamingo, you will design and develop scalable, high-performance back-end services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot. You will be responsible for implementing event-driven microservices, optimizing system performance, and ensuring high availability as we scale our platform. Your expertise in processing high-volume logs and integrating multiple data sources will be critical to building a robust and efficient system.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot).
• Architect and implement event-driven microservices with Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Process and analyze high-volume logs efficiently to ensure scalability and real-time insights.
• Integrate and manage multiple data sources, including SQL, NoSQL, and streaming data.
• Optimize database performance using PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms with OAuth, JWT, and Keycloak.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience in microservices architecture, including event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and WebSockets.
• Experience processing high-volume logs and working with log management tools (ELK stack, Loki, Fluentd, OpenTelemetry).
• Experience working with multiple data sources, including relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational (Redis, Elasticsearch) databases
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
• Understanding of security best practices in backend development.

We are a small, shipping-focused team. You will own features end-to-end, collaborate asynchronously, and have direct impact on a platform that coming to market now. This role is about elevating the product to scale across multiple industry verticals including technology, healthcare, skilled trades, and seasonal workforce.
 

We are looking for a builder: someone who writes clean, working code, thinks in products, and knows how to ship. You are comfortable working across the full stack, from database schema to UI interaction, and you use AI-assisted development tools as a natural part of your workflow. You do not need to be supervised to figure out what to do next.

This is not a role for someone who needs a finished spec to start. You will be handed context and outcomes, and expected to drive the implementation.
 

What You Will Do

• Build and ship full stack features across the Geni assessment platform
• Own backend API development using Bun, Elysia, and Drizzle ORM on PostgreSQL
• Build React 19 / Vite 6 frontend components and candidate-facing UX
• Implement and extend real-time voice and text assessment flows using Deepgram (STT/diarization) and Cartesia (TTS)
• Integrate with ATS platforms, starting with Bullhorn, and extend the integration layer
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (188-test baseline and growing)
• Collaborate with a small team of experienced product professionals
• Use Cursor, Claude, and other AI development tools to accelerate your own output
• Work directly in Linear to pick up, scope, and close issues
• Produce lightweight, practical technical documentation: architecture notes, API reference, deployment guides, and key decision records

What We Are Looking For

Technical Depth

• Strong TypeScript across both frontend and backend
• Experience with modern React (hooks, concurrent features, state management)
• Backend experience with Bun or Node.js-equivalent runtimes and REST or WebSocket APIs
• Comfort with relational databases, schema design, and query optimization using ORMs
• Familiarity with real-time audio or streaming protocols is a plus (WebSockets, WebRTC)
• Exposure to LLM APIs, the Vercel AI SDK, or Anthropic SDK is a plus

Що потрібно буде робити

• будувати affiliate-напрямок з нуля під pre-launch і launch;
• розробляти affiliate-стратегію по GEO, типах партнерів, моделях співпраці та KPI;
• підключати, запускати й розвивати affiliate-партнерів, webmasters, teams, media sources, influencers, SEO / PPC / FB / UAC-партнерів;
• працювати з моделями CPA / RevShare / Hybrid і шукати оптимальну unit-економіку;
• контролювати tracking, attribution, postbacks, affiliate links, subIDs, quality of data;
• оцінювати не тільки обсяг трафіку, а і його якість по FTD, retention, repeat deposit, ROI / payback;
• виявляти ризики по fraud, abuse, low-quality traffic, motivated users, scheme traffic;
• синхронізуватись із marketing, product, CRM, analytics, antifraud, finance і support;
• запускати партнерів із правильними offers, promo materials, landing pages, бонусною логікою і tracking setup;
• контролювати affiliate-виплати, розрахунки, звірки та прозорість взаєморозрахунків;
• будувати процеси partner onboarding, activation, reactivation, performance review, scaling rules;
• формувати регулярну звітність по партнерах, джерелах і окупності каналу;

• брати участь у наймі та розвитку affiliate-команди.
