Responsibilities:
- Consulting, selection and configuration of server hardware, including CPU, RAM, drives, RAID, HBA, network cards and other components
- Compatibility testing of components and conducting burn-in tests
- Hardware setup and configuration optimization
- Initial server configuration: base OS installation, RAID array setup and network interface configuration
- Hardware inventory management, including rack placement planning
- RMA process participation: troubleshooting, vendor interaction
- Remote Hands support: creating clear tasks for on-site technical personnel regarding component replacement/relocation
- Hardware cleaning and preparation for recommissioning
- Collaboration with technical division engineers, ensuring proper infrastructure handover to the next operational level
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of server hardware (architecture, components, troubleshooting)
- Experience working with equipment from Supermicro, Dell, HP, and others
- Knowledge of basic RAID configuration principles, network interfaces, BMC/IPMI
- Experience with inventory systems and asset tracking
- Experience with server hardware automation and provisioning systems (Ansible, MaaS, The Foreman, Tinkerbell, PXE/iPXE, etc.)
- Experience working with Linux operating systems
- Technical English β sufficient for reading documentation and communicating with support
Preferably:
- Experience working in a data center or with an IaaS provider
- Knowledge of RMA processes with major vendors
- Experience using remote management tools (IPMI, iDRAC, iLO)
- Experience with monitoring systems (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Programming experience or scripting in one of the languages (Bash, Python)
