    We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Team Leader to join our Mechanical Engineering Team in Kyiv, which plays a crucial role in the development of 3Shape’s next-generation 3D scanners for dental and medical applications.

    This is a unique opportunity to lead and further shape a team of 7 highly skilled mechanical engineers in Ukraine, while driving collaboration with our global R&D organizationβ€”especially the engineering teams in Copenhagen, but also Production site in Poland.

    As a Team Leader, you will be instrumental in structuring the way the local team works, aligning with our internal standards, and developing a long-term vision for how the team can grow and continue to deliver business-critical value as part of 3Shape’s hardware development landscape. This includes owning our SolidWorks-based CAD system setup, documentation quality, and contributing to technical excellence across hardware design.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    β€’ Lead and develop a high-performing mechanical engineering team in Ukraine, currently focused on 3D CAD design, documentation, and SolidWorks infrastructure.
    β€’ Ensure consistent quality and ownership of CAD models, product data, and mechanical design documentationβ€”critical assets for both R&D and production.
    β€’ Actively drive cross-site collaboration with engineering teams in Copenhagen and other global locations.
    β€’ Maintain clear team direction and alignment within the broader product development process.
    β€’ Contribute to mechanical design work including 3D models, drawings, specifications, and prototype evaluations.
    β€’ Oversee and continuously improve internal workflows, business processes, and documentation aligned with ISO standards and regulated product development.
    β€’ Act as a solid people managerβ€”ensuring team engagement, skill development, and technical delivery.
    β€’ Serve as a local process owner for the SolidWorks and PDM setup, including configuration control and structured data handling.

     

    Required Qualifications

    β€’ Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    β€’ 5+ years of mechanical development experience and 2+ years in a leadership role.
    β€’ Strong skills in SolidWorks and mechanical construction/design.
    β€’ Solid experience with PDM/PLM systems and configuration control.
    β€’ Proven track record in structured product developmentβ€”ideally in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices).
    β€’ Excellent English and Ukrainian communication skills (verbal and written).
    β€’ Demonstrated ability to work with drawings, specifications, and documentation standards.
    β€’ Experience in cross-disciplinary projects involving electronics, optics or software is a plus.
