Dokport is a Finnish digital health company building a next level telemedicine service for individuals and an occupational health platform for companies in Finland and other EU countries.

Our product and engineering team works across multiple projects, with 1–3 people assigned to each project. You should be comfortable collaborating with others and taking responsibility for a project independently. Sometimes, you will be the main engineer on a project: understanding user needs, making technical and product decisions, and taking it from idea to production.

We don’t expect you to know everything in advance. We value ownership, quick learning and the ability to get things working in production.

The work

Some platforms have undocumented APIs, bot detection and changes that arrive without notice. We need someone who can understand how those integrations work and keep them reliable when the platform, traffic or data changes.

We're hiring a senior full-stack engineer to keep production reliable and customer data correct. You'll plan for a workload of 50 million jobs a day, including bursts, slow upstream services and retries. You'll also build integrations and customer-facing features in Laravel 13, Inertia and React.

What you'll do

• Investigate production problems using logs, metrics and the actual request and job flow. Identify who is affected, contain the problem and verify the fix.
• Keep queues and webhook delivery reliable. Handle retries, duplicate events, rate limits and worker failures without losing data or letting one account hold up everyone else.
• Reverse engineer undocumented APIs and maintain integrations for authentication, posting, messaging, media and analytics.
• Make different platforms work through a consistent API. Keep documentation, SDKs and MCP tools aligned with the behaviour customers receive.
• Build useful dashboards and internal tools in Laravel 13, Inertia and React. Make the data accurate and the interface clear.

What we need from you

• You've shipped and maintained Laravel applications with real users, and you're comfortable building in React. Inertia experience helps, but is not required.
• You have operated queue or worker systems in production at substantial volume. You understand concurrency, retries, duplicate execution, backpressure and how databases and external services limit throughput.
• You can describe a production incident you personally investigated, the evidence that led to the cause and how you proved the fix worked. Explain the workload you owned in concrete numbers.
• You have reverse engineered an API, web client or similar integration. You can reason about HTTP headers, cookies, request signing, TLS fingerprints and rate limits.
• You check that data means what the product says it means. Missing information, failed requests and legitimate zero values need different handling.
• You use AI regularly and can show how it improves your work. You verify its output and understand the code you ship.
• You investigate problems independently, keep the team informed and raise blockers early. You know when to involve someone else in a decision.
• You don't need to have handled exactly 50 million jobs a day. Tell us what you have operated, how it failed and how you measured its limits.

• Project Description:

  The project focuses on developing advanced software solutions for the oil and gas industry, supporting key stages of the reservoir lifecycle, including exploration, development, production, operations, maintenance, and abandonment.
  
  The successful candidate will join the Information Management and Platform Technologies Development team and contribute to the design and development of next-generation software products. The role offers an opportunity to work with modern technologies, apply innovative ideas, and build solutions used in complex energy industry environments.

• Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• Spoken Upper-Intermediate English level or higher.
• Relevant experience in Fullstack Engineer positions for at least 7+ years.
• Backend Mastery: strong experience with Node.js or/and Python, including frameworks such as NestJS, Express.js, Fastify, FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Database & Data Architecture: solid SQL knowledge with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORMs (Prisma, TypeORM, SQLAlchemy, Django ORM). 
• Experience with NoSQL/caching solutions (Redis, MongoDB) and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, AWS SQS) is highly desirable.
• Frontend Capabilities: proven experience with React, TypeScript, and modern ecosystems (Next.js, Vite, TanStack Query, state management, form validation).
• API & System Design: deep understanding of RESTful API design, server-side data flows, authentication patterns, and asynchronous processing (GraphQL is a plus).
• DevOps & Infrastructure: hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Nice to have:

• Practical experience using tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, or JetBrains AI.
• Ability to review, test, and safely use AI-generated code.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable, secure server-side applications, APIs, database schemas, and background services.
• Implement complete, end-to-end functionality from backend logic and database models through to responsive React/TypeScript interfaces.
• Utilize modern AI development tools to boost delivery velocity, while rigorously reviewing, debugging, and refining all code to ensure production quality. 
• Take deep personal ownership of code quality, performance optimization, security, and deployment pipelines.

About the role

A growing part of our pipeline isn't websites — it's products. Clients come to us with a working prototype (often AI-generated), a locked UX and a launch date, and need someone to take it to production: web apps, mobile apps, multi-tenant platforms, admin panels, AI-assisted features.

You'll be the engineering counterpart to our design team on these projects — scoping, architecting, building and shipping.

What you'll do

• Take products from prototype/MVP to production: two-sided platforms, patient and provider portals, marketplaces, membership platforms
• Build backends: REST/GraphQL APIs, auth and roles, multi-tenancy, payments and subscriptions, file and document storage, notifications
• Build admin and CRM panels: user management, analytics, GDPR data deletion, crash reporting, invoicing
• Integrate third-party systems: hardware and device APIs and webhooks, payment providers, CRMs, analytics warehouses (Snowflake, Tableau)
• Build AI features into products: LLM APIs, assistants scoped to product data, orchestration, guardrails
• Debug and harden inherited codebases — several clients arrive with API and webhook bugs from previous contractors or vibe-coded prototypes
• Ship cross-platform mobile apps and handle App Store and Google Play submission

• Scope work and produce hours-based estimates with a breakdown by phase and risk

   

Must-have

• 5+ years full-stack, with production ownership rather than just feature work
• Backend: Node.js/TypeScript or Python — APIs, auth, background jobs, webhooks
• Frontend: React (Next.js a plus)
• Databases: relational schema design, PostgreSQL or similar. Supabase or Firebase welcome
• Payments and subscriptions in production (Stripe or equivalent)
• Deployment and infra basics: CI/CD, environments, monitoring, logging
• At least one product taken from zero to live users
• AI as a core part of your toolkit — in two directions. First, how you build: Claude Code (or equivalent agentic tooling) for scaffolding services, refactoring, test generation, and rapidly assembling working prototypes to pressure-test an architecture before committing to it. Second, what you build: hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs into a product — prompt design, structured output, tool use, evaluation, cost and latency control. You should also be able to audit an AI-generated codebase and honestly assess what's salvageable, since a growing share of our clients arrive with exactly that.
• English B2 or higher — you'll present the technical approach on client calls

• Ability to break a brief into a phased estimate with hours and risks

• You give honest estimates and flag when a client's budget doesn't match the scope — plenty of our leads arrive with a 250-hour budget for a 500-hour product
• Comfortable talking to non-technical founders and translating business logic into architecture

• You can run technical discovery: ask the right questions, produce a scoped plan
