Team Lead / Lead SMM
Most SMM leads manage presence. We need someone who builds reach engines.
This role exists because four AI products (agents) are hitting the market in the next 60 days โ and social media is the primary growth lever. We're not looking for someone to "maintain brand accounts." We need a person who has driven explosive audience and engagement growth before, knows exactly how they did it, and can build the team and system to do it again โ at scale, across platforms, from zero.
AI-driven tech company - a launching a portfolio of four AI-powered products for business automation and productivity, targeting English-speaking markets across the US, UK, EU, and APAC.
- Stage: pre-launch, public release in 60 days
- Channels: 10+ social platforms simultaneously
- Geography: fully remote, UTC-3 to UTC+4 preferred
Why this role
The CMO owns brand voice and narrative strategy. Your job is to turn that strategy into a high-output social operation that actually moves numbers โ followers, reach, engagement, inbound leads. You'll hire your own team, design the production system, and own the results. If you've been waiting for a role where you control the budget, the team, and the KPIs โ this is it.
What you'll do
First 30-60 days - build the engine:
- Propose the platform mix โ which social channels we prioritize, in what order, to what targets โ and get CMO sign-off
- Hire and onboard 10-12 people: short-form video producers, editors, ghostwriters, designers, community managers
- Build the content production pipeline: from idea to published post without content falling between hands
- Set up the performance dashboard so leadership sees what's growing and what isn't โ every week, in five minutes
Ongoing:
- Drive follower growth, engagement, and reach across brand accounts and founder-led profiles
- Run multi-account distribution infrastructure with strict operational hygiene โ account separation, rotation, risk containment
- Turn 12-16 hours/week of combined CEO and CMO time into maximum social output through batching and ghostwriting pipelines
- Own weekly KPI reporting and lead optimization decisions based on what the data shows
Who we're looking for
Must have:
- Proven track record of explosive growth on social โ specific numbers, specific channels, specific tactics you owned
- 2+ years managing an SMM or content team of 5+ people across multiple platforms
- Hands-on experience with multi-account infrastructure: account warming, device/IP separation, content rotation, pattern avoidance
- Deep platform fluency: you know what works on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube Shorts โ and why it works differently on each
- C1+ English โ for content quality control, team management, and Western-market audience intuition
- Experience with US, UK, or EU audiences โ not only local-market campaigns
Nice to have:
- Experience in a pre-launch or early-stage environment
- Familiarity with AI tools for content production and distribution
- Track record with founder personal brand growth
Not the right fit if:
- Your experience is limited to one platform
- You've executed strategy set by someone else but haven't built one from scratch
- You've been a strong producer or SMM but haven't led a cross-functional team
- You need established workflows to operate โ you'll be the one creating them
