Role Overview

We are building a greenfield analytics platform supporting both batch and real-time data processing. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can design, implement, and evolve scalable data systems in AWS.

This role combines hands-on development, architectural decision-making, and platform ownership.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement batch and streaming data pipelines using Apache Spark.
• Build and evolve a scalable AWS-based data lake architecture.
• Develop and maintain real-time data processing systems (event-driven pipelines).
• Own performance tuning and cost optimization of Spark workloads.
• Define best practices for data modeling, partitioning, and schema evolution.
• Implement monitoring, observability, and data quality controls.

Requirements:

Technical Competencies
Experience: 7+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership role (Tech Lead, Team Lead, Engineering Manager).
Experience in Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, or Banking.

Architecture: Proven experience with microservices and high-load systems (Fintech/Crypto experience is a strong plus).

Backend Expertise: Expert knowledge in at least one backend language (Golang, Python, Java, or C++).

1) Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Project Description: One of the largest private healthcare groups in the GCC region (the UAE, Saudi Arabia), with an extensive network of hospitals, clinics, and specialized medical centers. The company provides a wide range of medical services and actively invests in digital patient engagement channels.
• What is expected: The project involves a complete UX and visual redesign, introduction of new user flows. This role requires strong product thinking, deep understanding of healthcare digital experiences, and the ability to design scalable, accessible, and multilingual web solutions (including RTL support).
• Team composition: 2 FE React developers (hiring), Project Manager (hiring), QA, Designer (hiring).
