• 5+ years of commercial software development experience
• Strong proficiency in asynchronous Python (e.g., asyncio, aiohttp)
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, IAM, S3, SQS/SNS, EC2, ECS)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, including security, versioning, and error handling

Headway is our flagship app, offering summaries of nonfiction bestsellers, daily insights, and gamified challenges. Headway is the world’s most downloaded book summary app and has been featured as App of the Day in over 30 countries, including the US, the UK, and Canada.
 

You’ll join a cross-functional Product Marketing team at the intersection of marketing, product, and analytics, focused on sustainable growth through a structured A/B testing approach. Within this setup, we’re actively developing web-based thematic directions — and you’ll own one of them end to end.
 

The challenge you’ll take on:

As part of a tight creative trio — User Acquisition, Creative Marketing, and Product Marketing — your challenge is to unlock and scale an R&D web-based direction end to end. From ad messaging and web funnel experience to conversion and monetization, you’ll own a coherent user narrative, understand cause-and-effect across the funnel, and apply best market practices to drive CR, LTV, ROI, and sustainable new revenue growth within a large thematic unit.

What will you do:

• Own an R&D web-based direction: understand user needs, pains, and motivations, and shape a clear value proposition for each segment.
• Design and optimize the full user journey together with User Acquisition and Creative: creatives, web funnels, quizzes, landings, paywalls, and upsells.
• Run reverse funnel engineering: identify gaps between the promise in ads and the actual product experience, and close them through A/B testing and new solutions.
• Build a shared hypothesis backlog with the team, prioritize it, launch experiments, and analyze results together with analytics.
• Work with key metrics: CR across all funnel steps, ARPU, LTV/CAC, as well as overall marketing spend and new revenue volume.
   

What do you need to join us:

• 2–3+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Growth, User Acquisition, or Creative Marketing — with hands-on experience working with web.
• Confidence in execution under uncertainty: no fear of acting without full clarity, combined with the ability to build confidence through data, prioritization, and hypothesis validation.
• Experience in day-to-day collaboration within a “creative trio” (Product Marketing, User Acquisition, Creative Marketing) is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience working closely with UX specialists, analysts, and engineers on a daily basis.
• Strong understanding of how analytics, marketing, and product come together to drive growth and business results.

What you'll do:

You will design, build and ship LLM-powered features end-to-end. Day-to-day this means owning a problem from a Linear ticket through to a deployed Python service in production: prompts, evals, retrieval pipelines, agentic workflows, integrations with our CRM data, and the operational tail of monitoring and on-call.

You will work directly with the founder. There is no PM filter and no architect filter. You decide on the design, you write the code, and you run the deploy. AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, MCP servers) are part of the workflow — we expect you to leverage them aggressively, not babysit them.

Requirements:

- 3+ years of production Python (FastAPI / async / typed code)

- 30+ days of daily Claude Code usage with a public /insights HTML report you can share

- Demonstrated RAG / agentic systems experience (vector DBs, embeddings, tool-use, function-calling)

- Comfort with PostgreSQL, Docker, and at least one cloud (AWS / GCP / Hetzner)

- Strong written English (B2+) — async-first team, written communication is the default

- Self-managed: we do not assign you tasks daily, you pull from a backlog

Strong plus:

- LangChain / LlamaIndex / DSPy production experience (not tutorial level)

- MCP server authoring or skill/hook engineering on Claude Code

- LLM evaluation infrastructure (custom evals, regression suites)

- Open-source contributions in the LLM ecosystem

- Experience scaling RAG above 10M documents

Selection process:

3. 45-min interview — we discuss the test, your /insights, and the trade-offs you made

4. Offer — monthly retainer USD 1500-6000 depending on level and timezone overlap

We do not run live coding interviews and we do not run "culture-fit" calls.

A note on language

Day-to-day internal communication (chats, calls, design discussions) happens in Ukrainian and Russian. Code, PRs, tickets, documentation, and any client-facing work stay in English. We are upfront about this so candidates can opt in or out before applying — being comfortable working in a Ukrainian/Russian-speaking team is a hard requirement for the role.
