The Role

You will take end-to-end ownership of our data infrastructure: from architecting high-performance storage on our VAST platform to designing the pipelines that deliver clean, reliable market data to traders and researchers. This is a high-ownership role in a small, fast-moving team where your work directly shapes our research and trading capabilities.

What You'll Do:

• Design and manage scalable on-premise storage systems optimized for high-throughput analytics and research workloads
• Build and operate end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines (Prefect/Airflow) for market data across US Equities, Futures, SIP feeds, and other sources
• Implement data quality validation frameworks and SLA/SLO monitoring to detect anomalies and ensure data completeness
• Develop metadata and catalog layers for efficient data discovery and self-service access across the firm

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles, with proven large-scale infrastructure ownership (100TB+)
• Strong understanding of market data structures: trades, quotes, order books, corporate actions
• Production-grade Python and SQL; experience building APIs (FastAPI or equivalent)
• Experience with DAG orchestration tools (Prefect, Airflow or similar)
• Deep familiarity with binary columnar storage formats (Parquet, Feather/Arrow IPC), including encoding strategies, compression tuning, row group sizing, predicate pushdown and schema evolution trade-offs
• Design namespace structure, tiering strategies, and protocol selection (NFS/S3) on VAST, optimizing for mixed workloads (experience with Vast Database and Vast Data engine is a plus)

Main Responsibilities

– Lead technical decision-making and shape the architecture of our high-load, microservices-based platform

– Stay deeply hands-on, contributing to the codebase daily and setting the standard for engineering excellence

Mandatory Requirements

The company is building a leading direct-to-consumer platform for mobile games — created by game makers, for game makers.
