Tech Stack

Experience with these additional technologies is a plus, but not required if you're a fast learner.

Team

You'll work closely with our Android developer to keep both apps consistent so users get the same features, logic, and algorithms on both platforms. You'll also work with our founder and designer to understand user needs and advise on technical feasibility. You'll work with QA and support to investigate and fix bugs. We're helping a company replace their current fully outsourced, underperforming India-based team with a strong team that we're assembling in Eastern Europe.

The company is an early-stage healthtech startup replacing legacy benefits infrastructure with a modern, proprietary platform — mobile apps, multi-stakeholder portals, and claims tooling — and building the engineering team to own it from the ground up. We're hiring a team lead position as well as 3-4 senior level developers that we'll add to the team shortly as well.

Tech Stack: Java Spring Boot, React, AWS. Native mobile apps.

As Tech Lead, you'll own architectural decisions, drive technical standards across the team, and work directly with executive leadership to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps. This is a hands-on role — you'll be writing code alongside the team, not just managing from the side.

 Main shift pattern: 4/2 (4 working days / 2 days off), with minor variations possible

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with 7+ years of experience to design and scale the backend infrastructure powering our AI platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable backend services and multi-tenant SaaS systems
• Design and operate high-throughput data pipelines (batch and streaming)
• Build APIs and services integrating LLM inference, retrieval systems, and knowledge graphs
• Productionize research-grade AI systems into reliable distributed systems

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong experience with data pipelines and SaaS architectures
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native environments
• Experience in architecture, development and deployment of Kubernetes based systems
• Fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

• Go and/or Scala experience
• Hands-on experience with LLM systems (RAG, model serving, evaluation)
• Experience with knowledge graphs, vector databases, or hybrid retrieval architectures
• MS in Computer Science
