About the Project

A B2B SaaS platform purpose-built for a niche vertical in the construction industry is looking for an experienced full-stack engineer to join an early-stage team. You'll take end-to-end ownership of features - from database schema and backend API through to frontend UI and E2E tests - while also raising the overall quality and polish of the product. The engineering team is currently led by a CTO, so you'll be working closely with the product direction and have real influence over technical decisions.

Responsibilities

- Own features end to end - take a spec through backend API design, database modeling, frontend implementation, and into production with full test coverage
- Consistently raise the UI/UX quality of the platform: components, design tokens, dialogs
- Write Playwright E2E tests as a natural part of delivery; critical flows ship with coverage, not after
- Model domains and write non-trivial queries in PostgreSQL; think about data structure early
- Participate in code review and contribute to a shared standard for code quality
- Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or equivalent) as an active part of your daily workflow 
- Contribute to the LLM processing engine if that's a direction you want to grow into (opportunity, not requirement)

What We're Looking For

- 3+ years of commercial full-stack experience; Java/Spring Boot is the primary backend stack, React 18 is the primary frontend 
- Writes E2E tests as part of delivery, not as an afterthought 
- Playwright experience or equivalent required
- Solid relational database skills: comfortable with domain modeling and queries that go beyond simple CRUD
- Uses AI coding tools daily and can speak concretely to how they've accelerated their work
- UI/UX eye - know the difference between functional and polished, and care about closing that gap

🧩 Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Group Risk Management Framework
• Define and monitor risk appetite and key risk indicators
• Ensure compliance with UK and Malta regulatory requirements
• Oversee:
  • capital adequacy and liquidity
  • safeguarding of client funds
  • financial crime risks (AML, sanctions)
  • ICT and operational resilience (DORA)
• Act as a key point of contact for regulators and manage supervisory interactions
• Partner with the CEO and Boards on strategic decision-making
• Drive and embed a strong risk culture across the organisation

👤 Candidate profile

• 10+ years of experience in risk leadership within fintech, payments, or banking
• Proven experience working with regulators (FCA, MFSA or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of:
  • PSD2 / PSD3
  • AML / financial crime frameworks
  • safeguarding and operational risk
• Experience with Visa / Mastercard schemes is a plus
• Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to operate at Board level and challenge business decisions
• Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

We are a fast-growing fintech company with over 8 years of experience building financial infrastructure for digital advertising businesses. We provide solutions that help media buyers and advertisers run campaigns efficiently and without interruptions.

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial function across multiple international entities. This role suits someone who combines high-level strategic thinking with a solid operational foundation in accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities:
 

• Partner with the CEO and COO to shape business strategy and financial planning
• Provide the board with monthly and yearly financial analysis based on reporting to guide strategic direction
• Own reporting, invoicing, and reconciliation logic
• Develop dashboards and automate ongoing data analysis for real-time visibility in close collaboration with the product and engineering teams (proven experience applying solutions is a strong advantage)
• Manage legal entities across the globe (with focus on Europe and the US)
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks
• Manage multi-currency operations, treasury, and cash flow across jurisdictions
• Work with banks, payment systems, financial regulators
• Identify and manage financial risks, inefficiencies, and growth opportunities
• Lead the finance team of 5+ people including setting clear KPIs and ensuring professional development plans are followed through
• Establish efficient communication processes within the finance team and across other departments
   

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in finance, with prior experience in a Head of Finance or CFO role
• C1+ English level
• Strong expertise in financial modelling, reporting, and strategic planning across multiple international entities
• Background in SaaS, fintech, or a high-growth tech company is strongly preferred
• Proven experience of efficient managing and developing finance teams - from hiring to following personal development plans
• Experience with automation opportunities in finance operations
• Proven ability to implement scalable systems and lead through periods of growth or change
• Strong communication and people management skills – able to inspire a team while engaging the board
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
