Media Buyer (In-App)
ROIcamp is a media buying team that works exclusively with the dating vertical. The parent company has been building and monetizing dating products since 2011; the team is 40+ people and fully remote. We buy traffic on Meta, Google, TikTok, push and native placements, and we measure ourselves on paying users rather than on leads.
About the role
We have bought dating traffic since 2011, and for most of that time from Meta, where every launch begins with the question of whether the account will survive until the evening. In-app buying removes that question: accounts on Unity Ads, AppLovin, Moloco and Mintegral are not lost in ban waves, the inventory is enormous, and the auction rewards math rather than cloaking skills.
Dating adds its own requirement, because optimization runs deeper than in gambling: instead of stopping at the first deposit you follow each cohort down the full click โ registration โ subscription โ rebill funnel (rebill is the recurring charge on a renewed subscription) and earn on repeat charges.
You will be the first in-app buyer here, which effectively means writing the playbook for the source. You report to the Head of Media Buying, with the creative, farming (the team that registers and warms up ad accounts) and analytics teams alongside you.
What you'll do
- Launch and manage campaigns on Unity Ads, AppLovin, Moloco and Mintegral, and propose new SDK networks for testing with a supporting rationale.
- Build bundle whitelists and blacklists to cut junk inventory before it consumes the budget.
- Configure funnel events in AppsFlyer, from install through to subscription and rebill, and reconcile them with Keitaro.
- Optimize for repeat-paying cohorts rather than for a cheap install or a single payment.
- Scale profitable campaigns across GEOs and sources with no budget ceiling.
- Brief the creative team on video, playable and rewarded formats, with assets returned in 24โ48 hours.
- Own unit economics together with the analytics team: CPA, cohort LTV and payback by day.
- Present your numbers to the Head of Media Buying once a week, covering what scales, what gets cut and why.
Requirements
- 1.5+ years buying in-app or SDK traffic, with cases from the last 3โ4 months you can walk through on real numbers.
- Confident use of AppsFlyer or Adjust: events, attribution and cohort reports.
- A solid grasp of mobile formats (video, interstitial, rewarded and playable) and how each behaves in the auction.
- The habit of judging campaigns by cohort ROI rather than by creative CTR.
Nice to have
- Experience in dating or another subscription vertical.
- Moloco or Mintegral at the DSP-logic level, not only self-serve.
- An eye for playable creatives and a clear view of which mechanics are worth testing.
What we offer
- A source without the ban cycle, so your time goes into optimization rather than account recovery.
- Test budgets from week one, allocated against your plan without approval bureaucracy.
- The chance to set the standard, since your campaigns become the playbook for the future in-app team.
- Creative, farming and analytics one chat away, with support available rather than solo problem-solving.
- Fully remote work in a team that has been running dating traffic since 2011.
Growth path
You will be the only in-app buyer at the start. After 6โ12 months of steady profit a team forms around your campaigns, and you can grow into the team lead of the vertical with a share of the whole branch's profit.
Compensation
$1,000โ2,500 base plus 10โ20% of profit on a progressive grid. The formula is open: Bonus = % ร (revenue โ spend โ consumables). Payouts are made on a fixed date every month.
Hiring process
A 30-minute screening call, a numbers-based walkthrough of your cases, and a final call with the Head of Media Buying, followed by an offer. The full cycle takes up to 10 business days.
