Engineering Manager / Tech Lead — Full-stack / Data Pipelines
David AI is looking for an Engineering Manager / Tech Lead with 6+ years of product-focused full-stack engineering experience to lead and grow the engineering team.
You will partner closely with the CTO to define technical direction, ship core products powering an audio data research platform, and help build a high-performing engineering team at one of the fastest-growing AI infrastructure companies.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who combines strong hands-on engineering background with engineering leadership, product thinking, and the ability to make decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments.
What you will do
- Lead and grow the engineering team through a rapid scaling stage.
- Partner closely with the CTO on technical direction, architecture, and product execution.
- Ship core products for an audio data research platform.
- Build and improve scalable full-stack systems using Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
- Design and ship data-intensive products and scalable data processing pipelines.
- Own technical decisions in highly ambiguous and fast-moving environments.
- Support engineering quality, delivery speed, and team performance.
- Help turn zero-to-one product ideas into production-ready systems.
What we are looking for
Must-have:
- 6+ years of product-focused full-stack engineering experience.
- Experience leading engineering teams through rapid growth at high-growth startups.
- Strong full-stack web development experience with Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience shipping zero-to-one products end-to-end.
- Experience with data-intensive systems or scalable data processing pipelines.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.
- Strong product mindset and ability to work closely with leadership on product and technical decisions.
- Ability to make decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Based in San Francisco or willing to work on-site in San Francisco.
Nice to have:
- Experience in AI infrastructure, data infrastructure, ML/data platforms, audio data, or research tooling.
- Experience scaling engineering teams and processes.
- Experience working directly with CTOs, founders, or executive leadership.
- Experience building internal platforms, developer tools, or high-scale data products.
- Startup experience at Seed, Series A, or high-growth stages.
