Team Summary

Our focus is on backend services, data workflows, platform reliability, and scalability. We collaborate closely with Applied Science, Data, Product, and other engineering teams.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to guide and manage our backend team. This role combines backend engineering leadership, stakeholder collaboration, ownership of team delivery, and people management. You will be responsible for setting technical direction, driving execution quality, developing engineers, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of engineering systems that directly support AI/ML development.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead and manage the backend team and own all aspects of delivery, including planning, execution, technical risk management, and engineering quality
• Drive technical excellence by guiding key design decisions, resolving architectural trade-offs, and supporting the team on complex production, reliability, and scalability issues for backend services, APIs, and data workflows
• Manage and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, performance support, coaching, and career development

• Improve team execution by addressing technical debt, process gaps, and knowledge-sharing needs in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders (Applied Science, Data, Product, etc.)

   

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience leading and managing backend engineering teams
• Strong practical experience with Python backend development
• Experience designing, building, and operating production backend services, APIs, and data-processing workflows
• Practical AWS experience for building, operating, and troubleshooting production backend systems
• Experience with containerized backend systems, queues, background jobs, and/or workflow orchestration (Kubernetes experience is preferred)
• Strong system design skills focused on scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Proven people management skills: coaching, feedback, and engineer development
• Experience with delivery planning, technical risk management, production support, debugging, monitoring, and incident resolution
• Clear and direct communication style with engineers, managers, and stakeholders
• Ability to create clarity in ambiguous situations and make pragmatic decisions that balance speed, quality, and maintainability

Nice to have

• Experience with data-heavy backend systems, data pipelines, or workflow-heavy platforms
• Experience in AI/ML, computer vision, MLOps, or ML-adjacent engineering
• Familiarity with security-sensitive systems, such as access control or auditability

You write code at a senior level, you review with judgement, and you architect systems that hold up.

This is the part that separates the role. You are deeply proficient in AI and you have an extensive, working command of the tools that exist right now, not last year. You know which agents, copilots, and pipelines move the needle, where they break, and how to wire them into a real SDLC so the team ships materially faster without losing quality.

We are looking for a junior backend VLSI engineer to join our Physical Design team.

This role is ideal for new graduates with strong academic foundations in digital design and VLSI who want to learn and execute a full RTL→GDSII implementation flow using Synopsys tools.

You will gain hands-on experience working on advanced semiconductor technologies, including nodes down to 7 nm, 5 nm, 3 nm, and 2 nm.

Responsibilities:

Assist in synthesis (Design Compiler / Fusion Compiler) from RTL to gate-level netlist

Support floorplanning, power planning, and clock tree design

Perform place and route (P&R) using ICC2 / Fusion Compiler

Contribute to timing analysis and closure using PrimeTime (STA)

Run physical verification checks: DRC, LVS, antenna, IR-drop, EM

Prepare and validate design constraints (SDC, clock definitions, I/O timing)

Help generate and validate physical deliverables (LEF/DEF, SPEF, SDF)

Collaborate with RTL, DFT, package, verification, and integration teams

Document design steps, results, and signoff data

Required Qualifications:

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

Strong understanding of digital logic, synchronous design, and timing fundamentals

Academic exposure to VLSI backend flows

Basic familiarity with: synthesis, place & route, STA

Scripting skills (TCL, Python, Shell)

Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

Motivation to learn deep-submicron implementation techniques (FinFET and GAA nodes)

Nice-to-Have Skills

Exposure to Synopsys tools (DC, ICC2, PT) through coursework or projects

Understanding of setup/hold timing, OCV, derates, clock uncertainty

Basic knowledge of physical effects: congestion, crosstalk, IR-drop, EM

Позиція Tech Lead передбачає ключову технічну роль у розробці продуктів компанії. Мережевий інженер Wi Fi / Cisco ISE відповідає за впровадження та підтримку корпоративної бездротової інфраструктури і сервісів контролю мережевого доступу на базі Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). You'll start roughly 50/50 between technical work and management as you ramp up, earn context, and build trust with the team, and scale toward 80/20 management over your first 12 months as the team grows and your direct reports take on more. We're not looking for a manager who has forgotten how to read a stack trace, and we're not looking for a senior IC with a team tacked on. We're looking for someone who leads by setting technical direction, raising the bar on operational rigor, and growing engineers, and who can still jump into an incident bridge and be useful.

• A team of ~9 engineers spanning production engineering, SRE, security, and

• The reliability, performance, and operability of Client's GPU cloud platform across

multiple clusters and customers

• Incident response and post-incident culture, you'll set the standard for how we

investigate, communicate, and learn from outages

• Operational readiness for new clusters and data center buildouts, in close partnership

with our DC Build, Networking, and Program Management functions

• Platform automation and infrastructure-as-code maturity, reducing toil, codifying tribal

What we're looking for

Required

• 8+ years of infrastructure, production engineering, or SRE experience, including 3+

years managing or tech-leading engineers

• Deep hands-on experience with Linux production systems at scale, you've debugged

kernel, networking, and storage issues in anger, not just read about them

• Strong Kubernetes operational experience, you understand what breaks in Kubernetes

at scale and why, not just how to write a deployment manifest

• Experience running cloud or cloud-adjacent platforms in production, IaaS, bare-metal, or hybrid, with real customers depending on uptime
• Fluency with modern automation and IaC tooling (Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent) and a bias toward codifying operational knowledge rather than keeping it in people's heads
• Track record of building and running on-call, incident response, and post-mortem

AI as a force multiplier

We're making a deliberate bet that AI changes the shape of infrastructure teams. Our plan is to scale our platform faster than we scale headcount, using AI-powered development tools to build and refactor automation, AI-assisted testing and validation to improve reliability, and LLM-driven workflows to accelerate investigation, documentation, and operational review.

We're already applying these approaches in production and actively working to turn institutional knowledge into AI-accessible systems that improve operational efficiency and decision-making.

First 12 months: The team is measurably more effective, fewer repeat incidents, faster time to resolution, more work automated away. You've hired at least one additional engineer, coached at least one existing team member into a stretch role, and established Platform Engineering as a function that other teams at Company want to work with.

Must have:
