We are looking for a talented Engineering Manager to join a dynamic German startup (heavily AI-driven). This is NOT a traditional engineering manager role. We don't want process-heavy management, micromanagement, or someone who needs to review code. We want a servant leader who creates the environment for senior engineers to thrive!

    The Role

You'll manage 9+ senior engineers organized in 3 semi-autonomous pods. Your job is to enable, not control - remove blockers, foster ownership, scale the team, and free up the CTO to focus on strategy and sales.

    How We're Different

    AI-first development:

    • Engineers code primarily with Claude Code (agentic AI coding)
    • We believe AI amplifies engineering capability, not replaces it
    • You don't need to use AI tools yourself, but you must understand they're core to how we work
    • Old-school "AI is a crutch" mindset won't work here

    Product-driven engineers:

    • CTO defines WHAT to build (which clients, which integrations, business priorities)
    • Engineers define HOW (technical approach, architecture, implementation, create their own tickets)
    • Engineers own outcomes, not just tasks
    • You facilitate, you don't dictate

    Startup:

    • small team people, fast-growing, things aren't set in stone
    • We try things, learn, iterate quickly
    • A lot of interviews!
    • Light process, high trust, high autonomy
    • If you need structure and predictability, this isn't for you

    Autonomous pods:

    • 3 pods: Core Platform, Content/Integrations, B2B Client Integrations
    • Pods self-organize their daily work
    • You coordinate across pods, you don't manage within them

    What You Actually Do

    People management (40%):

    • 1-on-1s with 9 engineers (bi-weekly or weekly)
    • Performance coaching, career development, growth paths
    • Build and maintain team culture (autonomy, ownership, collaboration)
    • Live and breath our core values: ownership, transparency, simplicity
    • Handle interpersonal conflicts and team dynamics
    • Manage Staff Engineer/Tech Lead who's brilliant technically but occasionally difficult interpersonally
    • Create psychological safety and high-performance environment

    Hiring & scaling (30%):

    • Scale team from 9 to 16 engineers over next 6-12 months
    • Run hiring process (sourcing, interviews, offers)
    • Hire senior product-minded engineers who thrive with autonomy
    • Screen for AI-first mindset and ability to work with agentic coding tools
    • Build diverse, high-performing team

    Coordination & delivery (20%):

    • Attend 2-3 pod dailies to understand what's being built and spot blockers
    • Translate CTO's high-level priorities into business context engineers need
    • Weekly cross-pod sync to surface dependencies and conflicts
    • Track delivery without micromanaging
    • Remove blockers (vendor credentials, unclear requirements, cross-pod conflicts)
    • Weekly status to CTO: what's shipping, what's blocked, what needs decisions

    Culture & process (10%):

    • Foster autonomy and product-mindset in engineers
    • Keep process lightweight - add only what serves the team
    • Protect team from unnecessary meetings and bureaucracy
    • Scale culture as team grows (autonomy + ownership + AI-first)
    • Challenge and improve what's not working

    You ARE Responsible For:

    1. Team health, performance, and growth of 9+ engineers
    2. Hiring and scaling to 16 engineers
    3. Daily coordination and cross-pod alignment
    4. Delivery tracking (projects ship on time with quality)
    5. Removing blockers and enabling autonomy
    6. Translating CTO's priorities into context engineers understand
    7. Maintaining high-trust, low-process culture as team scales
    8. Making operational decisions (who works on what, pod structure, etc.)
    9. Weekly reporting to CTO

    You Are NOT Responsible For:

    1. Code reviews or technical decisions (Staff Engineer + engineers own this)
    2. Deciding WHAT to build (CTO owns product strategy and priorities)
    3. Technical architecture (Staff Engineer + engineers decide)
    4. Writing specs or creating tickets (engineers do this)
    5. Implementing heavy process or ceremonies
    6. Sales or client relationship ownership (CTO owns this, you support)

    You're a Great Fit If:

    Must-haves:

    1. 5+ years managing engineering teams (10-20+ engineers, senior teams preferred)
    2. CRITICAL: Servant leader mindset - You enable and remove blockers, you don't control or micromanage
    3. CRITICAL: Startup experience - You've worked in fast-moving, chaotic environments where things change quickly
    4. CRITICAL: Product-driven culture experience - You've managed engineers who own outcomes and make decisions, not just execute tasks
    5. Comfortable with AI-augmented development - You understand AI coding tools are the future, even if you don't code yourself
    6. High autonomy environment - You've fostered independence and ownership instead of creating dependency
    7. Scaling experience - You've grown teams from 10 to 30+ while maintaining culture
    8. Technical credibility - You don't code anymore, but you understand engineering well enough to have credibility with senior engineers
    9. Comfortable with brilliant but difficult people - You can manage a technically strong but interpersonally rough tech lead
    10. Low-process advocate - You add process only when it serves the team, not because "that's how it’s done”

    Nice-to-haves:

    • B2B SaaS or integration/API product experience
    • Travel/tourism industry knowledge
    • Experience with distributed/remote teams
    • Hired and managed engineers from multiple countries/cultures

Red Flags - You Won't Work Here If:

    1. You want to review code or make technical decisions (that's not your job)
    2. You believe in heavy process (Scrum ceremonies, status reports, strict planning)
    3. You think AI coding tools make engineers lazy or produce bad code
    4. You need predictability and structure (startup chaos will frustrate you)
    5. You want to shield engineers from clients/stakeholders (we want direct communication)
    6. You micromanage or need to know every detail of what engineers are doing
    7. You came from big tech and expect corporate structure/resources/process
    8. You're uncomfortable giving engineers autonomy to make decisions
    9. You need engineers to ask permission before acting
    10. You're uncomfortable with ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information

    About Procimo

Procimo builds industrial real-time location systems (RTLS), and machine data integrations across Europe.

We are scaling fast and need a Delivery Lead to take ownership of engineering operations and help our teams ship faster with higher quality.

This is a key role β€” you will work directly with the CEO, Head of Engineering, Tech Leads, and cross-functional teams.

    What You Will Do

    • Own the delivery process across 3 product lines (RTLS, Field, Machine Metrics integrations).

    • Keep developers focused, and remove distractions.
    • Monitor progress and prepare weekly delivery updates.
    • Manage task lifecycle in ClickUp.

This is not a project management job β€” it’s engineering delivery.

You won’t write code, but you must deeply understand engineering workflows.

    Requirements

    • 3+ years experience as Delivery Lead, Engineering Manager, Scrum Master, or similar role in software.
    • Experience with agile processes (Scrum/Kanban).
    • Strong understanding of engineering workflows (PRs, CI/CD, QA, releases).
    • Excellent communication and ability to coordinate across distributed teams.
    • Comfortable working directly with developers and Tech Leads.
    • Strong English (written & spoken).
    • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with IoT, industrial tech, or SaaS platforms.
    • Experience with ClickUp, Jira, or similar PM tools.
    • Technical background (QA, dev, or QA automation).
    • Experience managing multiple parallel workstreams.

    What We Offer

    • Fully remote
    • Long-term engagement (not project-based)
    • Contractor role paid in EUR/USD
    • Direct collaboration with leadership
    • High ownership and immediate impact
    • Fast-moving environment with real engineering challenges

    How to Apply

Please send your Djinni profile or CV and include a short message describing:

    • Your experience running sprints
    • Tools and processes you’ve used
    • Size of teams you coordinated

    🎯 What You’ll Actually Do

    • Architect, refactor, and scale a high-load distributed system where failure is not an option.
    • Lead by example - code, review, debug, and mentor through doing, not preaching.
    • Tune performance until it screams - reduce latency, optimize throughput, and kill inefficiencies.
    • Make tough calls: design trade-offs, architecture rewrites, tech debt prioritization.
    • Work side-by-side with Product Owners and Solution Architects - no β€œhandoffs,” just shared goals.
    • Build systems that outlive trends - resilient, measurable, and elegant.
    • Jump into incidents, own RCA, and make sure it never happens again.
    • Push the β€œPoC-first” mindset - test fast, fail smart, scale what works.

    🧠 What You Bring

    • 5+ years of backend experience - you’ve built serious stuff, not toy projects.
    • Deep in Node.js / TypeScript, comfortable with async flows, gRPC, and Kafka.
    • Hands-on with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.
    • You can diagram a microservice architecture from memory - and then improve it.
    • Obsessed with performance metrics, observability, and efficiency.
    • You think like an engineer, act like an architect, and deliver like an owner.
    • You’ve led engineers - maybe not by title, but by respect and example.
    • Bonus: You’ve touched ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.

    πŸ”§ How We Work

    • Speed > perfection. Build fast, measure, and move on.
    • Impact > output. One scalable fix beats ten β€œgood-enough” features.
    • Depth > talk. We respect engineers who know their stack and their product.
    • Direct > polite. Say what’s broken, fix it, move forward.
    • No heroes, no silos. We win as a team or not at all.

    πŸ”₯ What We Offer

    • Fully remote. Work from anywhere in Europe.
    • Unlimited vacation + paid sick leave. Life happens β€” take time.
    • Quarterly bonuses. Real performance, real rewards.
    • Medical insurance for you and your partner.
    • Learning budget for courses, conferences, and certifications.
    • Ownership and autonomy. You decide how to make things faster, cleaner, better.
    • No bureaucracy, no filler. Just meaningful engineering work.

πŸ‘‰Apply now, if you’re the kind of engineer who runs toward complexity, who sees product value in milliseconds and infrastructure elegance - then you’ll feel at home here.

Salesforge is soon to become the number one platform of choice for sales organizations large and small. We have built a new category within the sales execution software space called programmatic sequencing where we match seller data (what is it that you sell) and buyer data across various sources to personalize every single email at any scale and in any language all powered by AI, led by a senior team of people that know what they're doing.

Imagine a Chief Revenue Officer responding back to an email saying "This is email greatness". That's exactly what we deliver at any scale and in any language. Now we're at a point where we're looking to hire more back-end and front-end developers into our small, but mighty team to keep crushing our revenue targets.

Now we are building autonomous AI agents that will book meetings with prospects on autopilot.

    Culture?

We roll like a pack, our execution is godlike and we like good vibes along the way. No corporate BS or oldschool mentality. If this sounds exciting and you want to work on something that matters on a large scale, give us a shot.

    Engineering Manager - Responsibilities

    • Lead a small, high-velocity engineering team, owning execution, delivery predictability, and team health in a fast-moving startup environment.
    • Run regular 1:1s, coaching engineers on growth, performance, and impact; create clear development plans and feedback loops.
    • Keep engineers unblocked and productive by proactively removing execution bottlenecks and coordinating across functions.
    • Partner with Product/PM to refine ideas into well-scoped technical tickets and milestones, enabling the team to plan and estimate without CTO dependency.
    • Drive planning rituals (backlog grooming, sprint/kanban flow, retros), ensuring priorities are clear and work stays aligned with business goals.
    • Guide technical design and architecture for backend services and APIs: review proposals, facilitate tradeoffs, and ensure scalability/reliability under growth.
    • Help evolve distributed and message-driven systems when appropriate (e.g., SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka), focusing on resilience and operability.
    • Ensure data models and access patterns scale well across relational and document databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB).
    • Uphold engineering excellence through strong code review culture, pragmatic documentation, and quality practices that reduce production risk.
    • Foster a culture of ownership, clear communication, and continuous improvement across the team.
