Chief Financial Officer

We're looking for a Chief Financial Officer to build and own the financial and legal foundation of Stape, a fast-growing, fully bootstrapped SaaS company in the server-side tracking niche. This is a foundational role for someone who thrives in a high-growth environment and is excited about building financial & legal infrastructure and processes. You'll work closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure financial health, compliance, and scalability as we grow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and own the company's financial strategy, long-term planning, and budgeting processes. Provide data-driven insights to support key business decisions.
• Financial Infrastructure: Build and scale financial operations, including accounting processes, reporting frameworks, and internal controls.
• Legal Infrastructure: Oversee the company's legal framework, including entity structure, contract management, corporate governance, and compliance across operating jurisdictions.
• SaaS Metrics & Reporting: Own and report on core SaaS financial metrics.
• Audit & Compliance: Lead internal and external audit processes. Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting standards.
• Tax & Treasury: Manage tax planning and optimization across jurisdictions. Oversee cash flow, treasury operations, and banking relationships.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, HR, and Business Operations to align financial planning with headcount growth, compensation structures, and revenue targets.

Your background:

• 7+ years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (CFO, VP Finance) in a SaaS or tech company.
• Proven experience building financial and legal infrastructure in a startup or scale-up environment.
• Strong command of SaaS financial metrics and unit economics.
• Experience managing audits, tax compliance, and multi-jurisdictional legal and regulatory requirements.
• Hands-on operator comfortable working without a large team, able to both set strategy and execute.
• Experience with financial tools and ERP systems; NetSuite or other alternative enterprise accounting tool is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with EU regulatory frameworks and Spanish corporate law is a strong plus.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
