Chief Operating Officer - eCommerce / Retail Operations

$$$$
Product

We are an established designer eyewear eCommerce company with 8+ years in the industry, working with 100+ luxury and designer eyewear brands.
Our business operates across multiple sales channels, supported by a fully customized internal CRM system, warehouse workflows, inventory processes, fulfillment operations, marketplace management, and remote international teams.
If you haven't done this before β€” or you can't show real results from a previous role β€” please don't apply. We won't be fit, and neither of us should spend the time. We're hiring proven professionals only.

About the Role

The COO will work directly with the CEO and take ownership of daily operations across inventory, fulfillment, logistics, marketplaces, customer support, procurement, product/content operations, and internal systems.
This role requires a person who understands how to manage people, processes, and numbers β€” especially in a multi-brand retail or eCommerce environment.
We are looking for someone with proven experience in a similar operational leadership role. Relevant experience, real cases, and measurable results are important for us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve company-wide operations across departments.
  • Build clear processes, SOPs, reporting, and accountability systems.
  • Manage remote teams across Ukraine, New York, and other locations.
  • Lead department managers and ensure teams achieve their KPIs.
  • Improve inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, fulfillment speed, and operational efficiency.
  • Control fulfillment, logistics, support, and operational costs.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the CRM, workflows, reporting, and team execution.
  • Work with the CEO to turn business goals into clear execution plans.

THE KPIS YOU'LL OWN
This is the core of the job. We'll talk numbers in the interview, and we'll test how you think about them.
Inventory
–   Inventory turnover & weeks of supply
–   Sell-through rate by brand and by channel
–   GMROI β€” gross margin return on inventory investment
–   Aged / dead stock as a % of total inventory
–   Stockout / out-of-stock rate and inventory accuracy
Fulfillment
–   Order fulfillment cycle time
–   On-time dispatch & delivery rate
–   Fulfillment cost per order
–   Perfect order rate (accurate, on time, undamaged)
–   Return rate & return-handling time
Cost & margin
–   Contribution margin by channel and by brand
–   Operating expense ratio and cost per order across the P&L
–   Cash conversion cycle
Team & execution
–   SLA adherence across departments
–   Output / productivity per team member
–   On-time delivery of strategic projects

You should read this list and immediately know which levers move each number β€” and by roughly how much. That instinct is what we're hiring for.

WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE
–   Senior operations / COO experience in eCommerce, ideally multi-brand retail or marketplace.
–   A track record managing 10–15+ people remotely across time zones.
–   Fluency in analytics β€” you live in dashboards and decide from data, not gut feel.
–   Real, demonstrable KPI results from previous roles. Bring the portfolio.
–   Hands-on experience with CRM / ERP / WMS or workflow automation systems.
–   English at B2+ or higher.

HOW WE HIRE
No fluff. We'll ask about specific numbers you've owned, how you moved them, and what you'd do with ours. Expect a practical case study β€” real scenarios, real data. We work with people who know the numbers cold and know how to lead a distributed team to hit them.

WHAT YOU GET
–   Direct partnership with the CEO and real ownership of company-wide operations.
–   Fully remote, flexible schedule (full-time, 40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri).
–   Competitive salary, paid vacation and sick leave, birthday bonus, and team perks.
–   The freedom to build scalable systems instead of babysitting broken ones.

Application Note
We are looking for an experienced operational leader who knows how to manage teams through KPIs, not assumptions.
Please apply only if you have relevant experience and can share examples of previous roles, team size, KPIs you managed, and measurable operational improvements you delivered.
