Solution Architect — Headless Commerce Offline

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a digital commerce project focused on headless commerce solutions.

This role is a good fit for someone with strong experience in microservices, headless frontend/backend architecture, performance optimization, security, and modern development practices. We are looking for a proactive specialist who can consult, lead, contribute to presales, and bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution.

Location

Europe-based candidates only.
Preferably UK or Finland, but other European locations can also be considered.
Finnish language is not required.

Start Date

Expected start: late August.

Responsibilities

• Design and guide solution architecture for headless commerce projects.
• Work with microservices and headless frontend/backend architecture.
• Ensure performance optimization, security, scalability, and maintainability of the solution.
• Consult stakeholders and support technical decision-making.
• Bridge business requirements with technical execution.
• Contribute to presales activities when needed.
• Collaborate with development teams and provide technical guidance.
• Support best practices around automated testing, CI/CD, and version control.

• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

   

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or similar role.
• Broad experience with microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of headless frontend/backend architecture.
• Experience with performance optimization and security.
• Familiarity with modern development best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, and version control.
• Ability to consult, lead, and support technical decision-making.
• Proactive mindset and ability to connect business needs with technical solutions.
• Experience contributing to presales activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Upper-Intermediate or Advanced English.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with commercetools, Stripe, Akeneo, Bluestone PIM, Contentful, Sanity, Vercel, Omnium, or similar platforms.
• Previous experience in consulting or digital commerce.
• Finnish language skills would be a plus, but are not required.
