Shopify E-commerce / CRO Manager
About the Role
We're building out the DTC side of our supplements brand on Shopify and need someone who owns the full conversion and revenue growth function โ not just traffic. You'll be responsible for turning visitors into buyers, increasing average order value, and growing subscription revenue, while staying technically sharp enough to manage apps, brief developers, and keep the site running cleanly.
This is not an SEO role. It's a hands-on growth role for someone who thinks in funnels, tests hypotheses, and measures everything.
What You'll Own:
- Shopify site management โ day-to-day ownership of the store: content updates, app configuration, QA, and keeping all moving parts aligned across promos, inventory, and paid traffic.
- Shopify apps & technical tasks โ selecting, configuring, and managing apps for subscriptions, upsells, bundles, reviews, popups, shipping logic, and post-purchase flows. You don't need to code, but you need to understand how the technical side works and be able to brief developers and contractors clearly.
- Conversion rate optimization โ owning CVR growth across PDP pages, landing pages, homepage, collections, cart drawer, checkout flow, CTAs, trust elements, mobile UX, offers, and site speed.
- AOV growth โ testing and scaling bundles, starter kits, volume discounts, free shipping thresholds, cart upsells, post-purchase upsells, and gift-with-purchase mechanics.
- Subscription (SNS) โ improving subscription take rate through toggle placement, offer mechanics, discount structure, value messaging, and subscription UX.
- A/B testing โ running structured tests: hypothesis formulation, baseline definition, success metrics, variant setup, QA, result analysis, and kill/iterate/scale decisions.
- Analytics โ confident work with Shopify Analytics, GA4, Meta Pixel, GTM, Triple Whale, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or equivalent tools. Using heatmaps and session recordings to identify friction points, drop-off areas, and UX issues.
- Landing page optimization โ building and optimizing landing pages for paid traffic with strong message match between creative, offer, and page.
Hard Skills Required:
- Proven track record growing conversion rate on a DTC e-commerce site โ supplements, health, wellness, or beauty preferred.
- Experience building and managing a CRO backlog: hypothesis formation, impact/effort prioritization, test launches, and documented results.
- Understanding of fulfillment and inventory logic: out-of-stock handling, pre-order, notify-me, shipping rules, and how inventory affects promo activity.
- Understanding of unit economics: ability to evaluate how discounts, bundles, free shipping, and upsells affect both revenue and margin.
- Basic technical SEO awareness: site structure, indexation, page speed, metadata, internal linking.
- Compliance awareness for supplements/wellness: understanding of FDA/FTC guidelines and what claims are and aren't allowed.
