We are looking for a Country Finance Chief Accountant to act as the statutory accounting authority in Ukraine, responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of local accounting records and statutory financial reporting. The role ensures compliance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements, provides oversight of SSC accounting outputs, and acts as the key escalation point for accounting issues. The position also serves as the main contact for auditors, tax advisors, and local authorities on statutory accounting and reporting matters.
 

Responsibilities:

• Review, challenge, and approve accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial data prepared by SSC in line with local GAAP and Group policies.
• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results.
• Act as escalation point for accounting issues from SSC, ensuring proper resolution and implementation of corrective actions.
• Lead preparation, review, and approval of statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and local regulatory authorities.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory reports, filings, and other regulatory obligations.
• Oversee accounting treatment of tax-related positions (VAT, CIT, deferred tax) in coordination with SSC and external advisors.
• Ensure proper design and effectiveness of internal financial controls and drive remediation of identified control gaps.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of unreconciled or high-risk balances.
• Review and approve complex or non-routine accounting transactions and provide technical accounting guidance.
• Act as local accounting authority on IFRS/local GAAP interpretation and application.
• Support SSC in improving quality, accuracy, and timeliness of accounting deliverables.
• Act as key local contact between SSC, Group Finance, and business stakeholders on accounting matters.
• Support audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings and recommendations.
• Participate in finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
 

Requirements:

• Higher education in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or audit.
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience in statutory reporting and audit processes.
• Experience working in SSC or shared services environment is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of financial close, reconciliations, and balance sheet processes.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to work in a matrix environment.
• High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• English – Upper-Intermediate to Advanced (B2–C1).
