The expertise we’re looking for (must-have):

 

  • Exceptional portfolio with illustrations, concept art, and characters (including faces).
  • Expertise in digital painting with a drawing tablet.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Strong understanding of human and animal anatomy, composition, color theory, lighting, and material rendering.
  • Flexibility in different art styles and techniques; ability to match a defined style and reference.
  • Ability to sketch and draw any asset from scratch β€” when AI generation isn’t a fit, or to paint over and refine AI-generated output.
  • Skill in drawing characters, objects, and environments.
  • Basic understanding of UI/UX principles.
  • Preparing art for rigging/animation: cleaning up, separating assets into clean named layers, painting in hidden/overlapped parts, simplifying asymmetrical decor, keeping geometry rig-friendly for hand-off to animators.
  • Ability to generate ideas and provide visuals according to references and briefs.
  • Good time management and consistent on-time delivery.
  • Upper-Intermediate English (B2 or higher).

 

Working with generative AI (must-have):

  • A solid working understanding of different generative AI tools (e.g. Stable Diffusion, Midjourney) and confidence generating visual concepts and concept sheets.
  • Using AI output as a base and polishing it to production quality β€” including cleanup of AI artifacts (hands, edges, stray logos, doubled parts).
  • A clear desire to grow your AI skills as the toolset evolves.

 

Would be a plus:

  • Experience in the iGaming / gaming industry.
  • AI depth: style-consistency discipline (seed / prompt / LoRA), pose & composition control via ControlNet (OpenPose / Depth), ComfyUI pipelines, AI-assisted layer separation and inpainting (SD Inpaint, Photoshop AI, GPT-4o), and 3D-to-AI pose workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of Spine 2D and After Effects; understanding of 2D animation / rigging workflows.
  • UI/UX design experience.
  • Familiarity with using 3D models for posing/reference (Daz3D, Blender).

     

Your role will include:

  • Generating visual concepts and concept sheets.
  • Creating final art for social and mobile platforms.
  • Creating concept art (characters, locations, game elements, and assets).
  • Drawing and painting from scratch where AI isn’t a fit, and refining AI-generated bases to production quality.
  • Preparing rig-ready assets β€” cleanup, layer separation, naming, hidden-part paint-in β€” and handing them off to animators per the production pipeline.
  • Building mood boards at project start and iterating after reviews.
  • Actively participating in the game development process.
