Senior Payment Operations Specialist

Our client is a fast-growing international iGaming startup building a crypto + fiat gaming platform with ambitious global expansion plans. Operating across multiple jurisdictions, the company is currently scaling its infrastructure and looking for a Senior Payment Operations Specialist to take ownership of its payment ecosystem.

This is a business-critical senior hire focused on building and structuring the entire payment flow architecture — fiat and crypto, deposits and withdrawals, PSP infrastructure, treasury coordination, payment optimisation, and multi-jurisdiction operations.

Key responsibilities and your contribution:

Fiat Payment Operations

• Build, optimize, and manage a multi-PSP payment ecosystem (5–15 providers simultaneously).
• Configure deposit and withdrawal routing logic by transaction type, currency, jurisdiction, and provider performance.
• Negotiate commercial terms with acquirers and PSP partners, including fees, reserve structures, and settlement timelines.
• Launch and manage local payment methods based on target markets, including UPI, PIX, Trustly, iDEAL, SEPA, and similar solutions.
• Monitor and optimize payment approval rates by analyzing PSP decline reasons and transaction performance.
• Manage rolling reserves, float exposure, and settlement operations across multiple entities.

Crypto Payment Operations

• Build and manage crypto payment infrastructure in a live operational environment.
• Work with stablecoin settlement flows (USDT / USDC).
• Implement crypto-to-fiat conversion processes where needed.
• Set up on-ramp and off-ramp solutions allowing users to transact in local currencies.
• Manage integrations with crypto PSP providers such as CoinsPaid, B2BinPay, or equivalent providers.
• Support treasury-related decision-making around crypto volatility exposure.

Payment Infrastructure & Orchestration

• Work with smart routing logic, load balancing, and failover payment architecture.
• Evaluate payment orchestration platforms such as IXOPAY, Spreedly, or equivalent solutions.
• Build or contribute to reconciliation processes between player cashier systems, PSP statements, and internal accounting.
• Drive chargeback reduction initiatives and friendly fraud prevention strategies.

Treasury & Multi-Jurisdiction Operations

• Navigate payment regulations and restrictions across multiple jurisdictions.
• Understand licensing-related payment requirements market by market.
• Support implementation of player fund segregation processes where required.
• Manage inter-company settlement flows across multiple legal entities.
• Monitor FX exposure in multi-currency environments.

• Provide operational input regarding entity structures and payment accessibility.

   

Your qualifications:

• 5–10 years of hands-on payments experience specifically within iGaming / online gambling.
• Proven experience building or redesigning multi-PSP payment infrastructure in a live gambling environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of high-risk acquiring and payment operations.
• Experience working with iGaming-friendly PSPs and processors such as Nuvei, Paysafe, Trustly, CoinsPaid, B2BinPay, or similar providers.
• Practical experience with crypto payment rails and stablecoin settlements in iGaming.
• Experience working across multiple licensing jurisdictions such as MGA, UKGC, Curaçao, Gibraltar, or similar.
• Strong understanding of the difference between PSP infrastructure and payment orchestration platforms.
• Experience with payment performance optimization, reconciliation, settlements, and chargeback management.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate in a high-growth startup environment.

   

Nice to have:

• Experience with IXOPAY, Spreedly, or similar orchestration platforms.
• Experience negotiating reserve reductions and improving commercial acquiring terms.
• Familiarity with local entity structuring for enabling regional payment methods.
• Strong understanding of rolling reserve mechanics and liquidity optimisation.

• Experience at Tier 1 or Tier 2 iGaming operators (Kindred, Entain, Betsson, LeoVegas, or similar).
