Applied Data Scientist (Analytics Focus) Offline

About the Role

We are looking for an Applied Data Scientist who thrives at the intersection of product analytics and machine learning. In this role, you'll not only build models — you’ll define problems, shape analytical strategy, and collaborate with product teams to deliver real impact. If you’re passionate about turning data into insight and insight into action, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as an individual contributor working across the full lifecycle — from problem definition and data exploration to model development and presenting results.
  • Build and maintain machine learning models for use cases such as customer segmentation, churn prediction, quality scoring, and demand forecasting.
  • Perform A/B and multi-armed bandit (MAB) testing, evaluate results, and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop hypotheses, create new data signals (including from conversational data), and translate business needs into analytical solutions.
  • Support broader initiatives related to experimentation, personalization, and AI innovation.
  • Contribute to internal projects involving large language models (LLMs), including prompt testing and model fine-tuning.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in data science or advanced product analytics, with a focus on model development.
  • Proficient in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras), and SQL. Experience with tools like BigQuery or Redshift is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques such as classification, regression, clustering, time series analysis, Naive Bayes, XGBoost, and neural networks.
  • Strong foundation in statistics and experimental design — you understand how to design, run, and interpret A/B tests.
  • Strong communication skills — you can explain complex models to non-technical stakeholders.
  • English: upper-intermediate or higher (you’ll collaborate regularly with US-based teammates).

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with NLP, LLMs, or computer vision.
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow, DBT, or Prefect.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for ML model deployment.

Why Join Us

  • Work with massive datasets — over 1 million visits daily.
  • Make a direct impact on product decisions and business outcomes.
  • Join a 30+ person analytics team focused on growth, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Explore the latest in ML, experimentation, and LLMs in a real-world product environment.
  • Flexible remote work, supportive team culture, and professional development resources.
