THE ROLE

This is a hybrid Backend/Platform Engineering role to lead cloud and backend systems migrations. It involves shipping backend solutions that move the needle at the scale of millions of dollars in business impact.

You will evaluate, plan, and migrate backend systems from various stacks and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, and more) into our infrastructure. By leveraging AI tools and automation, you will significantly accelerate migrations and modernization efforts.

The Carbon Capture Platform supports verification and management of CO₂ sequestration data from Carbon Capture and Storage operations. The system processes monitoring data, generates verifiable records, and enables the creation of digital tokens representing stored CO₂.

Requirements

• 4 or more years of experience in backend development
• Experience with PHP: version 8.0 and above, Laravel or Symfony frameworks
• Experience with NodeJS: any of TypeScript-based frameworks
• Good understanding of OOP principles and best practices (DRY, KISS, SOLID)
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and good understanding of non-relational databases (Redis, OpenSearch, or other)
• Practical experience with Docker, docker-compose, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience writing unit and integration tests

• Intermediate level of English (B1) or above

• Hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) - third-party integrations or hosted models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, LLM Engineering Platforms
• Practical knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS or other providers) beyond basic object storage and compute instances

• Familiarity with real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets or WebRTC

• Implement new features following architecture guidelines, review the code of your peers
• Write code following best practices, common design patterns, and Domain-Driven Design ideas

Our family-style company is looking for a strong Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (6+ years). This is a long-term, full-time position in a startup in the field of Cyber Security and AI.

About the Role

This is a backend-oriented full-stack position with significant frontend responsibilities. You’ll build and own features end-to-end, including CRUD workflows, database tasks, schema changes, and AI integrations.
You’ll collaborate closely with developers, Team Leads, and PMs in a highly collaborative Agile environment with ticket-based workflow (Jira). The role requires strong ownership, a startup mindset, and the ability to mentor other developers.

What you’ll do:

• Take ownership of full-stack features, including backend and frontend work
• Implement CRUD workflows, database tasks, schema changes, and AI integrations
• Ensure production-grade quality: monitoring, debugging, performance optimization, handling real-world issues
• Contribute to system architecture: design new components or evolve existing ones with focus on performance, scalability, cost, and maintainability.
