In terms of technology, we mostly do cloud-related DevOps work, mainly on AWS and Google Cloud. Our team is also very experienced with Kubernetes, with which we have been working since before it became production-ready and such a huge hit.

We are searching for engineers with good communication skills to help our clients with:

- Migrate from manual cloud configuration to infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform/Terragrunt, CloudFormation & Crossplane

- Dockerize applications and add Docker-related logic to existing build pipelines created with GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI, or Jenkins

- Solve day-one challenges: set up K8s clusters on multiple cloud providers, configure baseline add-ons such as Karpenter, ingress controllers, Istio, and more.

- Solve day-two challenges: package applications using Helm, GitOps-based CD using ArgoCD/Flux, perform cost reduction utilizing Graviton/Arm64 and Spot instances, assist with incident resolution, etc.

- Improve application observability using monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, EFK, eBPF-based tools like Pixie, and advanced services like APM, RUM, and more.

- Improve application security by implementing DevSecOps practices, working with cloud tools CloudTrail, SecurityHub, GuardDuty, and integration into CI/CD pipelines, security vulnerability scanners like Snyk and Wiz.

How You Will Make An Impact:
As a Senior Engineer, Infrastructure, you will design, build, and evolve the core infrastructure that powers ThredUP, with a particular focus on the reliability, performance, and operability of our database estate. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you’ll lead cross-team initiatives and partner with stakeholders to ensure our systems are scalable, cost-effective, and secure.

This is an infrastructure-first role for an engineer who is equally comfortable owning production AWS Aurora (MySQL, PostgreSQL). You’ll spend most of your time on cloud-native infrastructure, orchestration, and automation, while serving as the team’s go-to person for database operations, performance tuning, and safe schema evolution. You will play a key role in defining our technical direction and ensuring our platform enables the rapid growth of our marketplace.

• Lead or significantly contribute to medium-to-large infrastructure projects crossing multiple engineering teams.
• Serve as a domain expert in cloud infrastructure, orchestration, observability, and platform automation, and as the team’s primary owner of database reliability and performance.

Technical Execution

• Architect and implement highly available, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Terraform.
• Drive improvements in CI/CD, observability, networking, and security across the platform.
• Provide high-quality, impactful technical contributions across infrastructure projects, setting engineering standards.
• Participate in and lead design reviews, providing constructive feedback and driving engineering excellence.

Database Engineering

• Operate, monitor, and tune AWS Aurora and RDS clusters (MySQL and PostgreSQL), including parameter groups, maintenance, minor/major upgrades, and point-in-time restores.
• Own HA and replication behavior: respond to failovers, work with cluster vs. instance endpoints, and run the checks required before promoting a reader to writer.
• Triage and resolve CPU/IO/locking/replication incidents; analyze slow query logs and EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE plans to produce immediate mitigations and long-term fixes.
• Plan and execute zero-downtime schema changes with safe rollback paths (online DDL, gh-ost / pt-online-schema-change, pg_repack, logical replication, trigger-based backfills).
• Partner with application teams to remove N+1 queries, tune indexes, and rewrite inefficient predicates; design partitioning and retention for high-write tables.
• Design, execute, and regularly validate backup and disaster-recovery procedures.

Ownership

• Act as an expert in infrastructure design, performance, and operations across multiple systems and services.
• Promote shared ownership of infrastructure by driving documentation, tooling, and process improvements.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring reliability while protecting teams from burnout.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Build relationships with engineering teams, product managers, and cross-functional partners to ensure infrastructure supports company goals.
• Contribute to defining strategic technical direction, setting infrastructure roadmaps, and guiding prioritization.
• Advocate for best practices in reliability, security, and cost management.
• Ensure knowledge is shared within the team, reducing single points of failure.

What we are looking for:

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Hands-on experience operating MySQL and PostgreSQL in production (Aurora/RDS preferred), including indexing strategies, transactions, locking/MVCC, and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated experience performing zero-downtime schema changes with safe rollbacks.
• Proven track record of designing and scaling infrastructure for distributed, service-oriented architectures.
• Expertise in AWS (EKS, RDS, IAM, cost optimization).
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD – one or more).

Role Summary
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer, working from before dawn into the morning (Kyiv time), to manage, automate, and maintain the infrastructure backing our trading systems. We are looking for a Lead DevOps / Observability Engineer to lead the migration of the client's observability stack from New Relic and Datadog to Grafana, using technologies such as Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo.

This is a hands-on role combining:
- DevOps & platform engineering - deploying and configuring the new observability stack using AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Application instrumentation - modifying application code to add or adapt metrics, logs, and traces.

Role Overview
This role focuses on building a SaaS product with additional support for local installations. You'll own the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure from the early stages, setting the foundation for how the platform operates.

The product is fully Kubernetes-based - a multi-tenant fleet of private GKE clusters on GCP, provisioned with Terraform and reconciled by ArgoCD from our own Helm charts. Strong expertise in cluster management, automation, and container orchestration is essential. The system is high-load, so reliability is the top priority. You'll also contribute to our open-source product.

Key Responsibilities
Design and maintain GCP infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, IAM, KMS, managed databases) using Terraform

• Operate a growing fleet of private GKE clusters: administration, upgrades, capacity planning, Gateway API, custom Helm charts
• Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD following GitOps practices, including ephemeral per-PR environments
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with Mimir, Loki, Alloy, and Grafana - dashboards and alerts as code
• Design and secure cloud networking: VPC architecture, load balancers, Cloud Armor WAF, TLS automation, NetworkPolicies
• Operate the stateful layer with engineering teams: MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, Pinot, Redis, NATS, Cloud SQL - sizing, upgrades, backups, disaster recovery

• Collaborate with engineering teams on deployment strategies and reliability
   

  Qualifications
  Must-Have

• Kubernetes - strong expertise in cluster administration, workload orchestration, and GitOps practices; ability to write and maintain custom Helm Charts
• Terraform - proven experience managing infrastructure as code and operating multi-environment estates on GCP
• Cloud platforms - solid knowledge of GCP core services, including compute, storage, and managed databases; equivalent AWS depth is fine if you are ready to work GCP-first
• Cloud networking - experience with VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls, and load balancers, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity
• Infrastructure security - practical experience with IAM, workload identity, secrets management, TLS, encryption (KMS/CMEK), and policy enforcement in production environments
• CI/CD workflows - experience building and maintaining pipelines with GitHub Actions/GitLab CI and ArgoCD/FluxCD
• Databases and messaging - operational knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL/Postgres, Redis, and streaming platforms such as Kafka; comfortable running stateful workloads on Kubernetes
• Observability - hands-on use of Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and similar tools for monitoring, alerting, and tracing

You will play a key role in managing and optimizing enterprise Linux systems across our global operations while supporting modern infrastructure, development workflows, and automation. Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain RHEL, Ubuntu, and Oracle Linux systems across enterprise environments;
• Configure, deploy, and upgrade Linux workstations and servers, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security;
• Implement and enforce organizational policies related to security and compliance, particularly within the context of Linux systems;

• RHCSA certification (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) - big advantage;
• Strong scripting skills for automation (e.g., Bash, Python, or other scripting languages);
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or similar;
• Experience integrating Linux systems with networking and identity management solutions (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP);
• Solid knowledge of system security practices, with experience in hardening Linux systems based on CIS Benchmarks and other security frameworks;
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies and working with VM solutions in large-scale environments;
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes);

• At least Upper-Intermediate English level.

The primary focus of this role is to ensure the stability, availability, security, and predictable operation of our production and staging environments. Talisa is a mature product, so the role is less about building new infrastructure from scratch and more about maintaining and continuously improving an existing production environment.

You will be responsible for infrastructure maintenance and upgrades, monitoring and incident response, security patching, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, capacity and cost optimization, and reducing operational risk.

We value operational discipline, careful change management, automation, documentation, and proactive identification of reliability or security issues.

Key responsibilities

Infrastructure Management:

• Operate and maintain Talisa production and staging AWS environments, ensuring stability, performance, and availability.
• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades with proper testing, rollback procedures, and documentation.
