We are looking for a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to strengthen our Cloud Platform team. This is a hands-on technical role critical to ensuring our operational excellence, security, and resilience.

Description

Our client is an innovative manufacturer of medical devices in the United States, producing devices and software applications.

In this project, you will have a great opportunity to be involved in the full development life cycle of medical software, which is designed to assist individuals by processing information from medical devices to identify health trends and track daily activities. In addition, there are opportunities to work with medical devices, in the scope of end-to-end testing.

As a Senior DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer, you will design, operate, and continuously improve the cloud platform and deployment pipelines that power medical software and connected devices. You will own infrastructure-as-code, observability, and reliability practices, collaborating closely with QA and development teams to ensure environments are correct, resilient, and verifiably healthy across all stages.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience (Must Have)
* Previous experience in DevOps/SRE or cloud infrastructure roles, including experience owning production systems in AWS.
* Strong proficiency with AWS (IAM, SQS, RDS, Redis/ElastiCache, S3, SNS, Lambda, VPC) and Kubernetes (namespaces, RBAC, Services, Deployments, HPA, ConfigMaps/Secrets).
* Deep experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and Git-based workflows; able to design modules, manage state, and implement validation and review practices.
* Solid experience with CI/CD systems (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar) and automating build, test, and deployment pipelines.
* Hands-on expertise with observability and monitoring tools (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or similar), including alert design, dashboarding, and incident troubleshooting.
* Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language such as Python or Go for automation, tooling, and integration tasks.
* Strong understanding of reliability engineering concepts: SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and resilience patterns.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with QA, developers, and product to balance reliability, speed, and cost.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
* Experience building or integrating infrastructure validation frameworks (e.g., Terratest or equivalent custom tooling) for Terraform and Kubernetes.
* Experience with GitOps tools (Argo CD), Helmfile/Helm charts, and multi-cluster or multi-region Kubernetes strategies.
* Familiarity with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd) and networking/observability at layers 3/4/7, including Cilium/eBPF-based tooling.
* Background in security and compliance (DevSecOps), particularly in regulated environments such as healthcare or finance.
* Prior collaboration with QA/Automation teams to integrate reliability checks and observability-driven tests into pipelines.

Job responsibilities

* Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for APIs, backend services, and infrastructure/configuration correctness in AWS and Kubernetes-based environments.
* Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab/Jenkins) as risk-based quality gates, defining stages, thresholds, and actions on failure in collaboration with Dev and SRE teams.
* Validate infrastructure and environments across Dev/QA/Prod-like stages using Terraform/IaC definitions, Kubernetes resources, and configuration checks, preventing config-to-resource mismatches.
* Use observability tools (New Relic, OpenTelemetry-based stacks, or similar) to define key signals, validate releases, investigate incidents, and distinguish between application, infra, and environment noise.
* Contribute to performance and scalability testing (e.g., JMeter or similar), helping design scenarios, interpret metrics, and influence scaling and capacity decisions.

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own the infrastructure for our new Medallion Lakehouse and AI-powered applications. You will not be maintaining legacy on-prem servers; you will be building the cloud-native foundation that drives our growth.

Tech Stack

• Cloud: Azure PaaS (AKS, Container Apps, Functions, Key Vault, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL).

• IaC: Terraform (Module design, state management).

• CI/CD: GitHub Actions (Automated pipelines, quality gates).

• Orchestration: Kubernetes (AKS), Docker.

• Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure as Code: Design and maintain scalable Azure infrastructure using Terraform. Implement module-based architectures for our Data Lakehouse (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers) and AI microservices.

• CI/CD Mastery: Build bulletproof GitHub Actions pipelines for Python applications and data workflows. Implement automated testing, security scanning, and seamless deployment strategies.

• Reliability & Observability: Implement monitoring dashboards (Grafana/Azure Monitor) and alerting strategies. Define and track SLIs/SLOs to distinguish between application and infrastructure noise.

• Security & Compliance: Enforce "Zero Trust" and "Least Privilege" principles. Manage identity (Azure AD/Entra ID), secrets (Key Vault), and network security (VNet, Private Endpoints).

• Disaster Recovery: Design and test backup/recovery strategies for databases and data lakes to ensure business continuity.

• Collaboration: Act as a bridge between Data Engineering and Backend teams, helping optimize Docker containers and troubleshoot production issues.
 

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps/Platform Engineering experience.

• Deep expertise in Azure ecosystems (proven track record of delivering Azure-based systems).

• Strong proficiency with Terraform in a production environment.

• Experience managing Kubernetes (AKS) and containerized workloads.

• Solid understanding of networking (VNets, DNS, Firewalls) and security (RBAC, IAM).

• English B2 – We communicate daily with the US team.

About the Role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer for our DevOps Team. Your primary responsibility will be providing day-to-day support for and ensuring the performance of the enterprise-wide Unix System infrastructure and interconnected technologies.
