We are looking for a QA Team Lead who will be responsible for quality assurance across multiple engineering teams and play a key role in building a scalable testing strategy. You will act as the quality owner for the larger development team, ensuring the reliability of the entire product data flow from external API integrations to end-user dashboards.

In this role, you will lead the QA team and work closely with engineering team leads, implementing automation, quality gates, and testing best practices within development workflows. You will have the opportunity to shape the company-wide quality strategy, scale automation efforts, and influence product quality across the entire engineering organization.

    Responsibilities
    - Lead a QA team of 3–4 engineers, including task assignment, code reviews, mentorship, and supporting professional growth.
    - Own end-to-end quality across all engineering teams.

    - Build and maintain a cross-team testing strategy covering the full data flow β€” from API ingestion through data pipelines to the end-user dashboard.
    - Design and implement automated test suites, including E2E (Playwright/Cypress), API, integration, and regression tests.
    - Establish quality gates in CI/CD pipelines, ensuring no code is released without passing automated checks.
    - Coordinate release testing across teams, ensuring that changes in one system do not impact downstream consumers.
    - Define and track quality metrics, such as test coverage, defect rates, time-to-detection, and regression frequency.
    - Collaborate closely with team leads (Platform, Integrations, etc.) to embed quality practices into development workflows.
    - Manage test environments and test data, ensuring realistic and reproducible testing scenarios across all domains.

    Requirements
    - 5+ years of experience in QA/SDET, including 2+ years in a leadership role managing a QA team.
    - Strong experience with test automation, using Playwright, Cypress, or similar E2E frameworks.
    - Experience testing APIs (REST), both manual and automated, including contract and integration testing.
    - Understanding of data pipeline testing, including validation of data flow from source APIs through transformation layers to analytics systems.
    - Ability to work across multiple tech stacks (PHP/Laravel, Vue.js, Python, SQL). You are not required to be a developer, but you should be able to read and understand code.
    - Experience with CI/CD integration, embedding automated tests into build pipelines and managing test environments.
    - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills β€” you will coordinate with 3–4 team leads and communicate quality status clearly.

    Nice to Have
    - Experience with BigQuery and/or ClickHouse data validation.
    - Knowledge of advertising/marketing tech domain (Meta API, LinkedIn API).
    - Experience with performance/load testing (k6, Locust, Artillery).
    - Familiarity with GCP services (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Scheduler).
    - Understanding of healthcare/pharma compliance requirements.
    - Experience with visual regression testing.

    What We Offer
    - Fully remote with flexible hours (aligned with EU timezones for syncs).
    - Influence on the quality assurance strategy across the entire engineering department.
    - A cross-team role with visibility into every part of the product.
    - AI-first tooling.
    - Claude Code licenses and cutting-edge AI development workflows.
    - A team with no bureaucracy, decisions are made fast.

At A-Players, we’re looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Billing Team β€” a team responsible for building and evolving our internal billing platform that sits at the core of the company’s financial operations.

You will take end-to-end ownership of quality in a technically complex, backend-heavy billing domain: from test strategy and automation to ensuring reliable, stable releases in a system that integrates with multiple internal and external services.

If you enjoy working close to the product and engineering, diving deep into complex domains, and building test systems that actually matter β€” this role is for you.

    Responsibilities:

    • Own and evolve QA processes within the Billing team
    • Be responsible for the quality of billing-related functionality and integrations
    • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests and test documentation (checklists, regression suites, test cases for automation)
    • Increase transparency of QA processes and improve quality monitoring
    • Identify bugs and risk areas early to improve overall system reliability
    • Ensure high quality and stability of releases in a fast-moving environment

    Why this role matters:

    • You will work on a mission-critical financial product at the core of the company
    • A large area of ownership and real impact β€” you will shape quality processes and automation, not just follow them
    • A technically challenging domain that offers strong professional growth
    • A strong engineering team and a culture of openness
    • Fast decision-making and the ability to see the impact of your work quickly

    What we look for:

    • 3+ years of experience as an SDET / Automation Engineer / QA Engineer with a strong focus on coding in backend-oriented products
    • Confident knowledge of PHP: writing automated tests, understanding backend code, and being able to work with existing codebases
    • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks
    • Strong understanding of test pyramid principles, testability, and maintainable test code
    • Hands-on experience with API and integration test automation
    • Confident work with REST APIs (Postman, Swagger, curl)
    • Understanding of asynchronous processes, webhooks, and queues

    Nice to have:

    • Experience with financial, billing, or payment systems
    • Experience testing payment orchestrators
    • Knowledge of event-driven architectures
