The Role

You will take end-to-end ownership of our data infrastructure: from architecting high-performance storage on our VAST platform to designing the pipelines that deliver clean, reliable market data to traders and researchers. What You'll Do:

• Design and manage scalable on-premise storage systems optimized for high-throughput analytics and research workloads

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles, with proven large-scale infrastructure ownership (100TB+)
• Strong understanding of market data structures: trades, quotes, order books, corporate actions
• Production-grade Python and SQL; experience building APIs (FastAPI or equivalent)
• Experience with DAG orchestration tools (Prefect, Airflow or similar)
• Deep familiarity with binary columnar storage formats (Parquet, Feather/Arrow IPC), including encoding strategies, compression tuning, row group sizing, predicate pushdown and schema evolution trade-offs
• Design namespace structure, tiering strategies, and protocol selection (NFS/S3) on VAST, optimizing for mixed workloads (experience with Vast Database and Vast Data engine is a plus)
