We are looking for an experienced Cloud & Virtualization Engineer to strengthen our team with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and Hyper-V. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize cloud and virtualized infrastructure.

Experience and Skills:
 

• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure Active Directory, and other core services.
• Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and its ecosystem: Hyper-V Manager, Virtual Machine Manager (VMM), Failover Clustering, SCOM, MOM, etc.
• Familiarity with Azure Stack / Azure Local solutions.
• A strong grasp of virtualization concepts, including designing, deploying, configuring Hyper-V environments, resource allocation, migrations, and high availability.
• Understanding how to optimize Hyper-V resource management for maximum hardware efficiency and performance.
• Knowledge of Microsoft licensing models and requirements.
• Confidence in deploying, configuring, and managing virtual machines and cloud resources in Azure.
• Familiarity with Azure Site Recovery for VM backup and disaster recovery.
• Experience working with container technologies (Docker) and Kubernetes: deploying, managing, and maintaining containerized workloads.
• Scripting and automation skills: PowerShell, Python, Terraform (others are a plus).
• Ability to write scripts for automating installation, configuration, and operations in both Azure and Hyper-V.
• Understanding of configuration management tools like Ansible for task automation.

 
What You’ll Be Doing:
Cloud & Virtualization Projects:

• Develop and implement strategies for migrating workloads to Microsoft Azure.
• Work with Azure services — deployment, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Design and maintain solution architecture using Azure Local and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Configure and optimize Hyper-V networking: virtual networks, VPNs, routing, load balancing.

Architecture & Implementation:

• Take part in planning and executing projects based on Hyper-V and Azure.
• Define optimal configurations for Hyper-V and Azure environments based on project/business needs.
• Design and implement secure, reliable, and high-performance solutions using Hyper-V and Azure.

Automation & Monitoring:

• Build and maintain automation for cloud and virtualization environments (PowerShell, Terraform).
• Develop monitoring solutions and ensure service quality for Hyper-V and virtual machines.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and architectural diagrams.

This engagement is focused on building an internal AI platform that enables developers to ship AI-powered services efficiently. Scope includes model connectivity, prompt testing and evaluation, monitoring/observability, and the underlying AI infrastructure layer.

The objective is to improve DevEx and reduce time-to-market for AI features.

Location: Serbia (relocation support available), Croatia, Poland, Portugal

Tasks:

• Build and operate the AI platform infrastructure enabling developers to ship LLM-based services faster.
• Implement and maintain Kubernetes-based runtime environments (incl. AKS) for AI workloads.
• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform (modules, environments, CI/CD automation).
• Support LLM workflows: RAG, agents, prompt experimentation, evaluations, and deployment patterns.
• Integrate and operate tooling such as Azure AI Foundry, LiteLLM, Langfuse, MLflow.
• Orchestrate pipelines using Kubeflow Pipelines and/or Argo Workflows (build, deploy, evaluate).
• Improve platform reliability and observability (monitoring, logging, tracing, cost/perf signals).
• Collaborate closely with developers to streamline DX (APIs, templates, docs, golden paths, automation).

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production (preferably AKS).
• Solid Terraform expertise (IaC best practices, multi-env setups).
• Practical experience supporting ML/LLM workloads in a platform or DevOps/MLOps context.
• Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and supporting APIs/evaluation tooling.
• Understanding of CI/CD, release processes, and production-grade operations.
• Ability to work under tight timelines and deliver pragmatically.

Nice to Have

• Experience building internal developer platforms or “paved roads” for engineering teams.
• Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks, prompt testing workflows, and LLM observability.
• Exposure to RAG architectures, vector databases, and agentic patterns.
• Experience with Kubeflow, Argo, and ML lifecycle tooling.

• Define and evangelize technology principles that balance short-term delivery with long-term system vitality.
• Architect distributed systems using Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
• Select and validate the right tools—from Kafka streams to NoSQL stores—to solve specific scale bottlenecks.

Resilience & Governance

• Design for failure by implementing patterns like Circuit Breaker, Bulkhead, and advanced Rate-limiting.
• Establish governance frameworks that unblock developers rather than slowing them down with bureaucracy.
• Optimize data strategies, including sharding, replication, and performance tuning for SQL/NoSQL databases under heavy load.

Delivery & Cloud Evolution

• Build scalable infrastructure using Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
• Modernize CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated, secure, and rapid deployments.
• Drive FinOps initiatives to ensure our cloud architecture is as cost-efficient as it is performant.

Technical Leadership

• Unblock engineering teams by breaking down complex problems into clear, documented architectural blueprints.
• Lead architecture reviews and mentor senior engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence.

Must-have

• 5+ years in senior/lead engineering roles with a proven track record in Microservices, EDA, and DDD.
• Deep understanding of CAP theorem, ACID properties, and implementing fault-tolerance patterns.
• Hands-on mastery of AWS or Azure, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform (IaC).
• Expert-level SQL/NoSQL knowledge, including database sharding, replication, and query optimization.
• Proficiency in Kafka (architecture, stream processing, and optimization for reliability).
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• Understanding of IAM, PKI, and building secure VPC/Hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with GitLab CI/GitHub Actions and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs.
