Middle Video Editor (eSports)
We are looking for a Middle Video Editor to join a team working on digital products in the gaming and eSports industry.
The role is focused on creating engaging short-form and long-form video content for a gaming audience across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and YouTube.
You will work closely with UGC Creators and the SMM team, turning raw footage and gaming materials into dynamic content that captures attention, reflects current gaming culture, and performs well across social media platforms.
Reason for opening: regular production of short-form vertical content and YouTube videos.
Team: 1 Lead, 2 SMMs, 2 AI Content Creators, 1 Copywriter, 1 Poster, 3 UGC Creators, 3 Community Managers.
Who will the candidate directly interact with: UGC Creators and the SMM team.
About the Role
The Video Editor will work with short-form vertical UGC and social media content for Standoff 2, PUBG Mobile, and Counter-Strike, as well as long-form YouTube videos, including reviews, digests, tournament content, and promotional videos.
You will work closely with On-Camera and UGC Creators: selecting the strongest moments from raw footage, building engaging video structures, creating strong hooks within the first 1โ2 seconds, and maintaining dynamic pacing throughout the video.
The current production volume is approximately 40 videos per month, with different levels of complexity: from relatively simple short-form edits to more complex videos requiring additional creative and post-production work.
There is no rigid editing pipeline: we value editors who can work independently, understand the content, and suggest their own ideas, references, and editing solutions.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of commercial experience in video editing, preferably short-form vertical content, UGC, or social media video production.
- A relevant video editing portfolio is mandatory. Candidates without a portfolio will not be considered.
- You personally play Standoff 2, PUBG Mobile, or Counter-Strike and understand the games, their communities, memes, and terminology.
- Deep understanding of the gaming audience: humor, memes, slang, and content styles.
- Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts: pacing, audience retention, first 1โ3 second hooks, subtitles, transitions, sound design, and viral mechanics.
- Ability to turn raw footage into dynamic and engaging videos.
- Strong sense of rhythm, timing, visual storytelling, and humor.
- Confident use of Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
- Experience with CapCut.
- Ability to work with a high volume of short-form videos, meet deadlines, receive feedback, and quickly implement revisions.
- Ukrainian or Russian โ Upper-Intermediate+ / Advanced for internal communication.
- English โ Pre-Intermediate.
Will be an advantage:
- Basic knowledge of After Effects.
- Experience working with UGC creators, bloggers, streamers, or influencers.
- Experience editing gaming, entertainment, or youth-focused content.
- Deep understanding of TikTok culture, Gen Z memes, and current short-form trends.
- Skills in motion design, simple animation, masking, tracking, keying, and visual effects.
- Experience using AI tools for editing, asset generation, subtitles, or production workflow optimization.
- Understanding of short-form content metrics such as retention, watch time, completion rate, and engagement rate, and the ability to use them to improve editing.
- Ability to independently suggest ideas, references, meme inserts, and editing solutions rather than only following strict technical briefs.
- Education or additional training in Video Production, Video Editing, Motion Design, Digital Media, Marketing, or SMM.

Tasks:
- Edit short-form vertical videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social media platforms.
- Work with raw footage from UGC Creators: select the strongest moments, build the video structure, create strong hooks, and maintain dynamic pacing throughout the video.
- Add subtitles, graphics, meme inserts, sounds, music, effects, transitions, zooms, color correction, CTAs, and other elements required for native short-form content.
- Edit long-form YouTube videos, including reviews, digests, tournament content, and promotional videos.
- Structure long-form content, remove unnecessary pauses, add gameplay footage, graphics, sound, and other supporting elements.
- Cut Shorts and vertical clips from long-form videos and tournament recordings.
- Adapt and export videos for different platforms and formats.
- Monitor social media and gaming trends and apply relevant editing techniques to current projects.
- Proactively suggest ideas, references, meme inserts, and editing solutions that can improve views, retention, and engagement.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions with UGC Creators and the SMM team, discussing scripts, content ideas, and editing approaches.
- Maintain a consistent production pace of approximately 40 videos per month, taking into account different levels of content complexity.
- Implement team feedback and continuously improve content based on the performance of published videos.
