Brand Protection Lead / Head of Brand Protection

We are looking for a Head of Abuse / Head of Brand Protectionto build and lead our Abuse function and move it from reactive case handling to a proactive, scalable approach.

The key focus of this role is Domain Abuse, Brand Protection and Domain Security: monitoring our digital assets, identifying potential abuse scenarios and infrastructure risks, handling complex cases, and building processes that allow us to detect threats before they become actual problems.

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical/domain expertise with hands-on abuse experience and the ability to build and lead a team.

What You Will Do

• Build and improve the Abuse function: processes, responsibilities, priorities, SLAs and workflows.
• Lead and develop a team of Abuse specialists.
• Build proactive monitoring across domains, websites and related infrastructure.
• Identify new abuse patterns, vulnerabilities and potential threats.
• Handle complex cases involving DMCA, trademark complaints, URS, UDRP and ICANN complaints.
• Work directly with domain registrars, hosting providers, abuse teams and other external parties.
• Investigate infrastructure using DNS, WHOIS/RDAP, IP data, SSL certificates, email headers and OSINT.
• Use tools such as VirusTotal, Shodan, Censys, URLScan, AbuseIPDB, Spamhaus, MXToolbox and similar platforms.
• Automate monitoring, data collection, case triage and reporting wherever possible.
• Work with the technical team on internal tools and automation.
• Build clear metrics to measure the effectiveness of Abuse operations.
• Analyze market practices and emerging abuse techniques to stay ahead of new threats.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in Abuse, Domain Abuse, Brand Protection, Trust & Safety, Domain Security or a closely related field.
• Experience leading a team or building Abuse / Brand Protection processes.
• Strong understanding of DMCA, UDRP, URS, trademark and ICANN complaint processes.
• Solid understanding of DNS, WHOIS, RDAP, hosting infrastructure, IPs and SSL certificates.
• Hands-on experience with OSINT and abuse investigation tools.
• Ability to investigate individual cases, identify patterns and turn them into scalable solutions.
• Experience with process automation or defining requirements for internal technical tools.
• English sufficient for communication with registrars, hosting providers and international partners.

Nice to Have

• Experience within high-risk / grey niches.
• Background at a domain registrar, hosting provider or Brand Protection company.
• Experience building an Abuse function from scratch.
• Experience with automated abuse monitoring and detection.
• Background in Threat Intelligence, Brand Protection or Anti-Fraud.
• Experience working with a large portfolio of domains and complex web infrastructure.
