Solution Architect - WMS
A Solution Architect provides leadership and direction to the on-site implementation team on the design and execution of the solution, as well as the definition of the business process workflows that accompany the solution. The aim of this role is to take ownership of the solution within an implementation project and architect software solutions that solve the customer’s business problem, while generating maximum value for the customer.
Description:
The Solution Architect will be responsible for the overall product/business solution design and delivery aspects of the implementation.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting Project Managers in planning efforts, including the detailed project plan / work breakdown structure, based on the specific phase and needs of the project.
Facilitating and leading business diagnostics, process analysis and/or design workshops to identify the as-is and desired to-be solution state, ultimately producing a solution design document to support the business requirements.
Leading the writing of functional specifications during the design phase of the project, in line with the documented solution design.
Developing functional business process test scripts, with step-by-step instructions, outlining new or updated end-user functional processes supported by the solution design.
This may include standard application functionality, customized modifications, data interfaces, reports/layouts, and preparation for customized end-user training workshops to support application training content outside of base application knowledge / Blue Yonder certifications.
Acting as a thought leader in their product solution area of focus and applying that knowledge to customer situations.
Providing advice to customers regarding industry best practices and process methodology.
Recognizing and highlighting incremental revenue opportunities with existing customers/projects.
Serving as a functional liaison and attending/contributing to key meetings between the Blue Yonder project team, key customer contacts and customer users, up to and including key executive project sponsors.
Understanding how Blue Yonder’s WMS solution can be configured and delivered to better facilitate customer business processes, ensuring the ability to design, execute and deliver the solution.
Setting up and coordinating user acceptance testing efforts to support final acceptance and critical phase sign-off by business owners.
Following up on cases opened with Blue Yonder Support Services to help resolve customer defects.
Providing non-technical end-user support during the go-live and post-go-live periods.
Ensuring knowledge transfer is conducted with key customer project team members and end users to maximize customer success after Blue Yonder project roll-off.
Communicating project risks that may have a negative impact on project schedule, scope or budget.
Escalating project issues that cannot be quickly resolved and may impact project schedule, scope or budget.
Communicating and/or supporting business cases to the Product Management Group and Product Development regarding specific trends for future product functionality and enhancements.
Location / working model
The resources will be needed within EMEA and will operate in the EMEA time zone. If there is a local Blue Yonder office, the resource is welcome to work from that office. Otherwise, they may work remotely.
The resource may be required to travel to the customer location for implementation activities. Blue Yonder will cover travel expenses in accordance with the Blue Yonder travel policy.
