Prompt Engineer / AI Agent Specialist (Customer Success + Onboarding)
Our partner is a fast-growing, profitable, bootstrapped company building AI voice and web-chat receptionists for law firms. Their AI agents handle live phone and web intake for 50+ law firms today โ answering calls 24/7, qualifying leads, booking consultations, and transferring calls when needed. Every firm gets a custom-tuned AI agent built around their specific practice areas, qualification criteria, and booking rules. They are hiring their first dedicated AI Engineer to own the systems that keep these agents working reliably in production.
Main Responsibilities
โ Build new AI agents for each law firm onboarded โ learn how they currently handle intake, then design the prompts, tools, and flows that replicate and improve on it
โ Write, debug, and continuously improve the prompts driving every agent conversation
โ Run test suites against every prompt change before it ships
โ Debug live agents and resolve issues quickly with minimal, surgical fixes
โ Listen to real call transcripts daily, identify patterns across firms, and propose product improvements
โ Own the prompt library and the reliability patterns that make agents scale
โ Provide proactive support for top clients โ reviewing conversations and improving them to build goodwill
โ Drive a customer success/upsell function: gathering case studies, testimonials, and reviews, and executing upsell tactics
โ Work directly with the founder on all meaningful product decisions
โ Write small scripts, automations, or tools when useful to speed up the work
โ Talk directly with law firm owners and lawyers to understand real legal intake workflows
Mandatory Requirements
โ Not currently enrolled in university, with no plans to enroll
โ C1+ English (daily calls and transcript review)
โ Broad understanding of what the company/product does, or ability to quickly grasp it
โ Familiarity with concepts like MCP or โSkillsโ in AI tooling
โ AI-native mindset โ regular use of tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor; has built own automations
โ Comfortable with technical concepts (webhooks, APIs) and no-code platforms (e.g., Make, n8n); coding ability is a plus but not required
โ Prior experience writing prompts regularly, ideally in a production or customer-facing context
โ Experience in customer success, support, or an FDE (Forward-Deployed Engineer)-style role is a strong plus
โ High agency โ comfortable identifying and owning problems end-to-end without waiting for direction
โ Detail-oriented โ able to catch subtle contradictions or errors in prompts and transcripts
โ Background is flexible: engineering, paralegal, ops, support, customer success, or even a science PhD โ real prompt engineering skill matters more than title
We offer
โ Direct line to the founder โ no middle management or committee decisions
โ Real customers from day one โ every prompt shipped goes live with paying clients
โ A technical core role at an AI-native company at an inflection point: profitable, growing, and rare enough to own agent behavior at scale
โ Fully remote and flexible โ work wherever, whenever; results matter, not hours
โ A clear path toward becoming a Forward-Deployed Engineer (FDE) in AI, with strong ownership and customer-facing exposure
