Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain the betting engine using Node.js, TypeScript, and Express 5, including round lifecycle management, outcome calculation, payouts, and idempotent transaction handling.
Build and optimize the real-time communication layer using WebSocket/Socket.IO with synchronized broadcast delays, bet-lock mechanisms, and front-running protection.
Develop event-driven pipelines with Kafka/KafkaJS and build analytical and anti-fraud data flows using ClickHouse.
Integrate HLS (.m3u8) video stream parsing and computer vision services, and implement Provably Fair (commit-reveal) mechanisms.
Work with PostgreSQL/Prisma and Redis for data storage, caching, round state management, and rate limiting.
Implement observability and monitoring using PostHog and Pino.
Ensure system reliability through automated testing (Vitest), Docker-based containerization, and resilient feed handling, including failover and automatic void logic.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality, performance, and security.
Requirements
3+ years of back-end development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
Hands-on experience building high-load, real-time services using WebSocket technologies.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis, including transactions, idempotency, concurrency, and consistency.
Experience with message brokers such as Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
Solid understanding of service reliability, logging, monitoring, testing, and fault tolerance.
Previous experience in the iGaming or Sports Betting industry.
Nice to Have
Experience with ClickHouse or other analytical/column-oriented databases.
Experience implementing anti-fraud systems.
Experience working with HLS/RTMP video streaming.
Familiarity with computer vision technologies.
Knowledge of Provably Fair concepts and cryptographic mechanisms (HMAC).
