Junior Java / TypeScript Game Developer

TJHelpers builds strong engineering teams through mentorship, real project experience, and our “Helpers as a Service” model.

We are looking for a Junior Developer to join our team at our Kyiv office near Odeska Square and work on an international gambling / iGaming project.

About the Project

You will develop and maintain HTML5 slot games for a major international entertainment provider, using PixiJS and WebGL. Features include reels, spin mechanics, win animations, Spine animations, and visual effects.

You will work alongside a team lead, a mentor, and fellow developers.

Responsibilities

• Develop HTML5 slot game features using TypeScript and Java.
• Work with PixiJS/WebGL game mechanics, visual effects, and Spine animations.
• Investigate and fix bugs based on Jira tasks.
• Optimize rendering performance and memory usage using Chrome DevTools and profiling tools.
• Test games on desktop and mobile devices, including iOS.
• Use Git and pull requests, and participate in code reviews.
• Coordinate task progress, estimates, and priorities with your team lead and mentor.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Java and TypeScript.
• Understanding of OOP and basic data structures.
• Basic knowledge of Canvas/WebGL or a willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with Git and pull requests.
• English sufficient to read technical documentation and Jira tasks.
• Attention to detail and willingness to work with a large, existing codebase.

• Interest in Game Development / Graphics Development.

   

Nice to Have

• Experience with PixiJS, Cocos2d, Phaser, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Spine or GSAP.
• Experience with web or game performance optimization and an understanding of garbage collection.
• Familiarity with Jira and Agile workflows.

This role is pivotal in driving user acquisition and engagement through innovative and high-performing playable ad experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mobile game development, a deep understanding of playable ad mechanics, and a proven track record of delivering successful creative campaigns. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end production of playable ads, from concept to execution, ensuring high quality and performance.
• Collaborate with marketing, design, and development teams to brainstorm and develop innovative playable ad concepts.
• Manage external vendors and agencies, overseeing the production process and ensuring timely delivery.
• Conduct A/B testing and analyze performance data to optimize playable ads for maximum impact and ROI.

We're looking for a Roblox Gameplay Scripter to own the development of a game from an empty project to a published and monetized title.

You'll be the sole gameplay developer on the project. Art, UI/UX, icons, and marketing are handled by our internal team—you'll focus on building the game according to a detailed written specification.

• Готувати та презентувати ігрові концепції, product vision і вимоги перед командою та ключовими стейкхолдерами.

• Досвід роботи у casino / slot provider на позиції Game Producer, Senior Game Producer, Product Owner або на аналогічній ролі.
• 5+ років досвіду в Game Development, значна частина якого пов’язана з online casino / real-money games.
• Досвід створення та випуску комерційних slot games або інших casino products.
• Кілька випущених ігор, у створенні яких ти відігравав ключову продуктову або продюсерську роль.
• Глибоке розуміння ринку online casino та факторів, що впливають на комерційний успіх гри.
• Глибоке розуміння slot mechanics та основних параметрів казино-ігор: RTP, volatility, hit frequency, paylines / ways to win, free spins, multipliers, jackpots, Hold & Win та інших поширених механік.
• Здатність оцінювати гру одночасно з точки зору гравця, комерційного потенціалу та реалістичності розробки.
• Сильне продуктове мислення: розуміння, для кого створюється гра, чому гравець має обрати саме її та чим вона відрізнятиметься від конкурентів.
• Досвід управління cross-functional командою розробки.
• Уміння перетворювати абстрактну ідею на зрозумілу концепцію, вимоги та конкретні завдання для команди.
• Уміння приймати рішення в умовах неповної інформації та брати відповідальність за результат.
• Хороше розуміння процесу розробки ігор, його етапів і технічних обмежень.

Senior Game Producer – це не Project Manager із доступом до Jira.
Ми очікуємо, що ти зможеш самостійно відповісти на кілька ключових питань:

• Чому цю гру взагалі варто робити?
• Для кого вона?
• Що змусить гравця обрати її серед десятків конкурентів?
• Які елементи дійсно впливають на результат, а від яких можна відмовитися?

• Що потрібно змінити після релізу, якщо дані показують, що початкова гіпотеза не спрацювала?

  ідея → концепція → розробка → реліз → аналіз → наступна гра сильніша за попередню.
