Our client is an innovative early-stage company based in the Chicago metropolitan area, building a modern technology-driven business in the commercial services industry.
As the company continues to scale, they are looking for their first Performance Marketing Specialist to build and own the paid acquisition function from the ground up.
This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious startup at an early stage, work directly with the Founder & CEO, take ownership of a critical business function, and make a measurable impact on the company's growth.
Although the company is headquartered in Chicago, this is a fully remote position, and we welcome candidates from any location who can collaborate effectively in an English-speaking environment.
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Performance Marketing Specialist who will take full ownership of paid acquisition and be responsible for the entire customer acquisition funnelβfrom launching advertising campaigns to generating qualified leads.
This role is ideal for someone who thinks beyond campaign management, makes data-driven decisions, and enjoys building scalable lead generation systems from scratch.
You won't be managing agencies or working within a large marketing department. Instead, you'll own the advertising channels, continuously test new ideas, analyze performance, and scale what works.
Key Responsibilities
- Own paid customer acquisition across Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram) and Google Ads.
- Develop account structures, audience strategies, campaign budgets, and testing roadmaps.
- Launch, manage, and continuously optimize advertising campaigns.
- Create high-performing ad creatives, including static ads, short-form videos, and landing pages.
- Manage and optimize the entire acquisition funnelβfrom first impression to qualified lead or booked meeting.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics, including:
- CAC
- CPL
- ROAS
- Conversion Rate
- Payback Period
- Manage advertising budgets and make optimization decisions based on performance data.
- Run continuous A/B testing, quickly eliminate underperforming campaigns, and aggressively scale winning strategies.
- Work directly with the Founder & CEO to shape and execute the company's marketing strategy.
Ideal Candidate
- Has commercial experience in Performance Marketing, Paid Media, Demand Generation, or Paid Acquisition.
- Has strong hands-on experience managing Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram) campaigns with real advertising budgets.
- Has practical experience running and optimizing Google Ads campaigns.
- Understands B2B lead generation and customer acquisition funnels.
- Makes decisions based on data, marketing metrics, and unit economics.
- Experience working with AI tools, including Claude Code and OpenAI Codex.
- Can independently create compelling advertising creatives without relying on a dedicated designer.
- Has an ownership mindset and enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Is self-driven, highly organized, and comfortable operating with minimal direction.
Nice to Have
- Experience marketing service-based businesses, home services, field services, construction, industrial equipment, or related industries.
- Experience editing short-form video content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok, etc.).
