Freelance Senior Graphic Designer, Real Estate and Branding

Strong preference for candidates with experience in commercial real estate, real estate development, architecture, and branding.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer with a strong background in branding, editorial design, and high-end marketing collateral.

This role will have a heavy focus on commercial real estate and real estate development, including property branding, brochures, pitch decks, presentations, offering materials, digital campaigns, and other sales and marketing collateral.

We’re looking for someone senior enough to take a project from a loose brief to a polished final product without needing constant creative direction.

You should have a strong point of view, excellent taste, and a deep understanding of typography, layout, imagery, hierarchy, and brand systems.

This is not a production-only design role, and it is not a drag-a-template-into-Canva role.

We want someone who can look at a property, development, or company and figure out how to make it feel distinctive, premium, and memorable.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and extend brand identities for commercial real estate properties, developments, companies, and campaigns.
  • Design high-end property brochures, marketing books, offering materials, pitch decks, presentations, and sales collateral.
  • Take large amounts of information and turn them into clear, visually compelling layouts that are easy to understand.
  • Design maps, site plans, property highlights, amenity pages, location overviews, market information, tenant information, and other common real estate marketing materials.
  • Build sophisticated pitch decks and presentations that communicate a story, not just decorate slides.
  • Establish strong visual systems that can carry across print, digital, presentations, web, social, and advertising.
  • Work across multiple client brands while keeping each one visually distinct.
  • Select and art-direct photography, renderings, architectural imagery, aerials, maps, and other visual assets.
  • Design digital campaign assets, including paid social, display advertising, landing page visuals, email graphics, and lead-generation materials.
  • Work comfortably with long-form documents where typography, grids, pacing, and consistency matter.
  • Prepare production-ready files for both digital and print.
  • Review and QA your own work carefully before delivery.
  • Manage projects independently and hit deadlines without requiring constant follow-up.

Real Estate Experience

Experience in commercial real estate, real estate development, architecture, hospitality, luxury real estate, or a related industry is strongly preferred.

We are especially interested in designers who understand how to make real estate marketing feel sophisticated without making every project look the same.

You should be comfortable working with materials such as:

  • Property and development brochures
  • Offering memorandums and investment materials
  • Leasing and sales presentations
  • Investor and capital-raising decks
  • Property branding and identity systems
  • Development presentations
  • Aerial and drone photography
  • Architectural renderings
  • Site plans and maps
  • Floor plans
  • Location and amenity maps
  • Market and demographic information
  • Signage and environmental applications
  • Digital marketing campaigns

You do not need to be an architect, but you should be comfortable working with architectural and real estate information and know how to present it clearly.

What We’re Looking For

This is a senior-level position.

We’re looking for someone who can do more than execute a provided layout. You should be able to take ownership of the visual direction of a project and make good design decisions independently.

You should know when something feels too busy, when the typography is wrong, when an image isn’t strong enough, when a deck isn’t telling the right story, or when a brand system isn’t carrying through.

We’re looking for thoughtful design with restraint and intention.

The work should feel custom to the client and project, not like it came from the same template with a different logo dropped in.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional graphic design experience preferred, with a portfolio demonstrating senior-level work.
  • Strong portfolio in branding, editorial design, brochures, presentations, and marketing collateral.
  • Commercial real estate, real estate development, architecture, hospitality, or luxury brand experience strongly preferred.
  • Expert-level understanding of typography, layout, grids, hierarchy, composition, and brand systems.
  • Strong Adobe InDesign skills, particularly for brochures, long-form documents, and print production.
  • Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma.
  • Excellent presentation and pitch deck design skills.
  • Experience preparing files for professional print production.
  • Strong image selection and art-direction skills.
  • Ability to work with architectural photography, drone imagery, renderings, maps, floor plans, and site plans.
  • Comfortable using AI tools where they improve the creative process, while having the judgment to keep the final work original and intentional.
  • Comfortable creating editable Canva templates when a client deliverable requires them, but Canva should not define your design process.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and brands at the same time.
  • Able to work independently and reliably meet deadlines in a remote, largely async environment.
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  •

What We Want to See in Your Portfolio

Please send a portfolio that shows finished, real-world work, not just concepts or isolated social graphics.

We are particularly interested in seeing:

  • Commercial real estate branding
  • Property or development brochures
  • Pitch decks and presentations
  • Offering memorandums or investment materials
  • Brand identity systems
  • Editorial and long-form layout
  • Architecture or development-related work
  • High-end print collateral
  • Maps, site plans, or information-heavy layouts
  • Digital campaigns built from a larger brand system

We want to see that you can take a brand and carry it across an entire project, from the cover of a brochure to a 40-page document to a presentation to a digital campaign.

The Person We’re Looking For

You have strong taste and don’t need to be told when something isn’t working.

You care about the details. Typography matters to you. Spacing matters. Image selection matters. The way information flows through a 30-page brochure matters.

You’re comfortable receiving an imperfect brief, asking the right questions, and figuring out the best visual solution.

You can make a commercial real estate project feel premium without making it feel generic.

You can move between brands without making everything look like your personal design style.

And when you hand something off, it’s finished.

We’re looking for a senior designer we can trust with important client work, not someone we need to art-direct through every step.
