Job Description
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a Solution or Cloud Architect role
- Strong hands-on expertise with Java and Micronaut framework
- Deep experience with AWS services: ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, Secrets Manager, CloudFormation, EventBridge
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and JFrog for artifact management
- Experience with Liquibase for database change management
- Familiarity with LocalStack for local AWS environment simulation
- Proven ability to define ownership boundaries, architecture documentation, and backlog intake processes
- Strong communication skills to work across distributed teams and align with client stakeholders
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in medical device or healthcare software environments (compliance-aware development, audit trails, data privacy)
- Familiarity with agent-based software distribution and deployment (package distribution, versioning, rollback expectations)
- Background in log processing or event-driven architectures
- Experience supporting or transitioning operations to internal client teams (RDIT or equivalent)
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead solution architecture across the three core Service Cloud workstreams: Service Cloud, Connect Agent, Log Parser Framework, etc
- Design and govern cloud-native architectures on AWS (ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, Secrets Manager, EventBridge, CloudFormation)
- Define integration patterns between the Service Cloud backend, Connect Agent deployment model, and log processing infrastructure
- Establish and enforce architectural standards for CI/CD pipelines managed via Azure DevOps and JFrog artifact management
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams on deployment models, rollback/restore strategies, and environment parity (DEV/QA/Production)
- Provide architectural guidance on security and compliance: IAM, secrets management, certificate handling, signing keys, and audit responsibilities
- Define and review infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation, Liquibase migrations)
- Support incident response processes at L3/L4 level - owning RCA and escalation paths for architectural issues
- Contribute to documentation support and knowledge transfer to the client's RDIT team managing production environments
- Evaluate and advise on local development tooling including LocalStack-based environment simulation
Department/Project Description
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a strategic engagement with a leading global ophthalmic medical device company. You will play a key technical leadership role in the design, architecture, and delivery of the Service Cloud platform - a cloud-native service management solution spanning multiple workstreams including the Service Cloud application, Connect Agent, and Log Parser Framework.
You will define and govern the technical architecture across cloud infrastructure, backend services, and CI/CD delivery pipelines, working closely with engineering teams, product owners, and the client's RDIT operations team.
