Strategic Analyst
Our client, a high-tech defense company at the forefront of innovation, is looking for a Strategic Analyst.
This role is a high-impact, cross-functional position focused on market intelligence, strategic planning, and analytical support for product and portfolio decisions. You will work closely with leadership to shape data-driven strategies in a fast-evolving defense and deep-tech environment.
Key Responsibilities
Market & TAM Analysis
- Size addressable markets for client's product lines using bottom-up and comparable-based methodologies
- Synthesize market data into structured models and materials for leadership and investors
- Build and maintain a structured competitive database covering key players; analyze the global defense market
Product & Portfolio Strategy Support
- Support scoring and prioritization of client's product portfolio using structured frameworks
- Build and maintain hypothesis models linking strategic bets to financial outcomes
- Track progress against product strategy targets and flag deviations
- Support preparation of investor-facing materials: comparable benchmarks, EV/Revenue multiples, valuation anchors
Reporting & Knowledge Management
- Produce competitive intelligence digests for leadership
- Maintain a structured knowledge base of research, models, and strategic documents
- Present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
Hard Skills
Excel / Financial Modeling
Comfortable building bottom-up market models, unit economics, scenario analyses, and comparable tables - not just formatting, but true modeling logic.
Market Research
Ability to find, verify, and synthesize data from primary and secondary sources. Strong source hygiene - no reliance on unverified estimates.
Competitive Intelligence
Experience structuring competitive landscapes, tracking funding/contracts/partnerships, and identifying strategic implications.
Structured Communication
Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, decision-ready presentations. Investor- and executive-level quality is expected.
English
Professional working proficiency - capable of reading industry reports, writing briefs, and communicating with international partners.
Background & Experience
- 2β4 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment analysis, market research, or defense/tech industry roles
- Exposure to B2G, defense, or deep-tech markets is a strong plus
- Understanding of defense industry dynamics is a significant advantage
- Bachelorβs degree in economics, international relations, or a related field
Soft Skills
- High analytical rigor - distinguishes between verified data and estimates; clearly flags uncertainty
- Self-directed - able to define and scope research questions independently
- Comfortable working with ambiguity in a fast-moving environment
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to step back and see broader strategic implications
