Odoo Solution Architect

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Odoo Solution Architect with deep hands-on expertise in Odoo development and architecture. The ideal candidate will combine strong engineering skills with solution design capabilities, leading end-to-end Odoo implementations while actively contributing to technical decisions and development.

This is a senior, client-facing role requiring strong technical leadership, the ability to design scalable ERP architectures, and close collaboration with both business stakeholders and engineering teams. The role also includes mentoring developers and enforcing high engineering standards across projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Odoo ERP implementations, including architecture design, development strategy, and deployment.
• Design robust, scalable, and maintainable Odoo solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Act as a technical authority across projects, ensuring best practices in Odoo development and configuration.
• Work closely with stakeholders (including executives) to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Oversee and contribute to custom module development, code reviews, and performance optimization.
• Design and supervise integrations between Odoo and third-party systems (REST APIs, SOAP services, data pipelines).
• Define architecture standards, development guidelines, and CI/CD processes.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure system stability, security, and performance.
• Participate in pre-sales activities, solution estimation, and technical proposal preparation.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of experience with Odoo ERP, including multiple full lifecycle implementations, additional experience with other ERP systems is a plus
• Proven experience in a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or Senior Odoo Developer role.
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
  • Odoo components and their customizations (Accounting, Sales, Inventory, Manufacturing, HR, etc.)
  • Custom Odoo module development
  • Odoo framework internals and ORM
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance business and technical priorities.

Technical Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming principles.
• Deep understanding of Odoo framework:
• Experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimization and database design.
• Solid knowledge of Odoo API integrations:
• Experience with Linux environments, Docker, and deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with Odoo.sh, CI/CD practices, and version control (Git).
• Understanding of frontend technologies used in Odoo: JavaScript, Owl framework (preferred), HTML/CSS.
• Experience with performance tuning, debugging, and profiling Odoo applications.
• Knowledge of security best practices in ERP systems (access control, record rules, data protection).

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level Odoo developers, QA engineers, and functional consultants.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce development standards, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Support team growth by sharing best practices in ERP implementation and Odoo development.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery.

Nice-to-Have

• Knowledge of BI tools and data warehousing concepts.
• Odoo certification(s).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Background in large-scale ERP transformation or multi-country rollouts.
