Junior Manual QA Engineer

About the role

BlazingBoost is hiring a Junior Manual QA Engineer. The role suits someone who already has a testing foundation and wants to grow further: a QA mentor will be alongside you, so we don't expect you to "know everything" on day one - instead, you'll have real tasks on real products from the start. Fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Manual testing of web application features.
• Assist with regression, smoke, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
• Create and maintain test cases and checklists.
• Find, document, and track bugs in a bug-tracking system.
• Work with system alerts and logs (Sentry, Graylog) - with team support.
• Collaborate with developers and a QA mentor.
• Take part in dailies and team discussions.

Expectations

• 6+ months of hands-on QA experience (or strong practical training - pet projects, courses).
• Experience in manual testing of web/mobile applications.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Browser DevTools, Git, and Jira.
• Understanding of testing types: functional, role-based access, UI/UX, cross-browser, exploratory, regression, mobile.
• Understanding of HTTP, HTML, and CSS essentials.
• English (spoken and written) - Intermediate level or higher.
• Clear and effective communication.

Nice to have

• Experience testing databases and APIs (REST).
• Understanding of client-server architecture and backend-testing experience.
• Understanding of AI and experience with AI tools: thoughtful use of AI assistants in testing (drafting test cases, generating test data) and awareness of their limits - the need to verify generated output and avoid sharing confidential data.
