Head of Risk Management

We are an international fintech company. Since 2025, we have been providing loans in Spain. We are looking for a Head of Risk Management β a professional who will be responsible for the quality of the loan portfolio and will directly influence the companyβs default rate and profitability.

Your responsibilities:
- Manage key loan portfolio metrics, including DPD, default rate, delinquency inflow, NPL, Approval Rate, Cost of Risk, and portfolio profitability.
- Develop lending policies and credit scoring logic by generating hypotheses, conducting tests, and adjusting approval criteria and credit limits.
- Lead the Risk Analytics team: assign tasks, ensure high-quality execution, and support team development.
- Independently work with data in PostgreSQL: build datasets, analyze customer segments, and validate hypotheses.
- Prepare technical requirements for the IT team when implementing new lending rules and process changes, and monitor the correctness of implementation.
- Build analytical reports and dashboards, and prepare regular risk reports for management.
- Collaborate with the Risk Management team to ensure compliance with procedures and achievement of target KPIs.
Who we are looking for:
- Experience in a leadership role within Risk Management.
- Mandatory experience in an MFI, microfinance, consumer lending, or banking environment.
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Strong understanding of the economics of lending products.
- Experience managing teams and monitoring key performance indicators.
- Ability to build transparent business processes and analytical frameworks.
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for the IT team.
Will be an advantage:
- Knowledge of Python for analytics and model development.
- Experience with BI tools such as Metabase, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Experience developing credit scoring models from scratch.
- Experience working in European markets and understanding their regulatory requirements.
- Experience designing and implementing fraud prevention (anti-fraud) rules.
