Product

We are looking for a skilled Senior Technical Product Manager who can bridge product, engineering, AI quality, UX, and commercial decision-making.

Client: VC-funded AI tourism platform building the next generation of travel experiences through artificial intelligence.

Product: The product ecosystem includes an AI travel assistant, content enrichment systems, and partner integrations that help transform how travelers discover, plan, and experience destinations.

Team: Small, highly technical team that moves quickly, ships frequently, and focuses relentlessly on product quality and customer value.

Technology stack:

  • AI products: an AI travel assistant and a content enrichment system
  • Backend: Go monorepo, 3+ services
  • Hosting: PaaS-managed containers
  • Observability: Jaeger tracing, Betterstack
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis
  • AI tooling: Claude Code used across the team

The Role

This is a supportive Senior Product role, not a Head of Product or Pod Lead. You will act as a Product Manager supporting two or three engineering pods, helping improve product quality, user experience, AI performance, commercial viability, and market competitiveness.

You must be technically experienced enough to discuss prompts, evaluations, model behavior, and architecture with engineers as peers and be willing to build small things on your own.

What youโ€™ll actually do:

  • Sit alongside two to three engineering pods as their senior product partner, advising on quality, roadmap, and behavior while pod leads own delivery
  • Run market and competitor analysis across AI travel, AI assistants, and supplier platforms, and feed that back into the roadmap and pricing decisions
  • Own the commercial and pricing input on client deals, working with the founders so that contracts and scope reflect what we actually build
  • Lead UX research and design oversight across products, raising the bar on internal tooling and customer-facing interfaces
  • Translate user behavior, supplier feedback, and competitor moves into clear, testable improvements
  • Review AI assistant prompts and interactions regularly, working with engineers on evals and quality benchmarks
  • Build dashboards and reporting that turn AI performance into a story stakeholders can read
  • Join client and supplier calls when product context, pricing, or commercial discussions are on the table

What you will contribute to:

  • Market and competitor intelligence across AI travel and assistant products
  • Commercial input on pricing, contracting, and client scope
  • UX research and design quality across our AI products and partner-facing surfaces
  • Eval coverage, quality dashboards, and AI performance reporting
  • Product context for supplier and client integrations

You are a great fit if you:

  • Get genuinely curious when an AI product behaves unexpectedly and dig in until you understand why
  • Think in user journeys, quality metrics, and commercial impact rather than tickets and burndowns
  • Are comfortable being a senior advisor across multiple pods rather than running one of them
  • Care more about whether the product works for real customers than about the process ceremony
  • Enjoy working in a small, fast team where your decisions reach users quickly
  • Want to stay long-term and help shape how AI changes travel

๐Ÿ™… Probably not the right role for you if:

  • Your background is mainly project management, Scrum mastery, or engineering management
  • You have never worked on a product that uses LLMs in production
  • You have never owned commercial or pricing responsibility
  • You expect to lead a pod or have engineers report to you
  • You expect detailed specs handed to you before you start
  • You are outside European or African time zones

Required ExperienceMust Have

  • Critical: Hands-on engineering background before moving into product management. If you have only worked as a Project Manager or Scrum Master, this role is not for you
  • Production software development experience within the last 5 years
  • Critical: Recent active use of Claude Code or an equivalent agentic tool within the last 12 months, and willingness to still build small things hands-on
  • Critical: 3+ years co-leading or leading product at an enterprise B2B or SaaS company, with both commercial and product responsibilities
  • Critical: Hands-on experience with AI products in production. Deep understanding of: prompts, evals, harnesses, hallucination handling, and model selection
  • Strong technical experience: you can read code, follow an architecture diagram, and push back on engineers without overriding them
  • Experience with internal admin tooling and B2B user interfaces, not only consumer products
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Availability to work full-time within ยฑ3 hours of CET

Nice to Have

  • Travel industry experience
  • German language skills
  • Past work on AI assistants, chat-based products, or recommender systems
  • Corporate or legacy enterprise background alongside startup experience
  • Experience setting up product analytics, evaluation frameworks, and quality dashboards from scratch

Job Details:

  • Full-time, 40hrs/week
  • Fully remote work
  • Long-term cooperation
  • Modern AI-first development environment (heavy use of Claude Code)
  • International team
  • Paid sick leave, vacation days, and benefits
  • B2B contract
