Freelance Web Developer (WordPress)

We’re looking for an experienced Freelance Web Developer to support a London-based IT services company, working on an ad hoc, project-based basis, but with an emphasis on collaboration, communication, and being part of a wider technical community.

You’ll still work from clear technical briefs and tickets, but this role is best suited to someone who enjoys working with other engineers, staying connected, and not operating in complete isolation.

The Opportunity

This role combines flexible freelance work with the option to be part of a Kyiv-based technical environment. You will have access to our fully-equipped office, complete with solar-powered generators that provide eight hours of uninterrupted power, a Starlink backup satellite network, coffee and snacks, and monthly social events. 

You’ll:

• Work alongside experienced engineers across Kyiv and London
• Use the Kyiv office multiple days per week, even when working on other freelance projects
• Contribute to a collaborative, professional engineering culture
• Focus on delivery while still having human interaction around the work

What You’ll Do

• Build and amend WordPress websites
• Implement front-end and back-end changes
• Fix bugs and resolve technical issues
• Support hosting-related tasks (DNS, VPS, migrations)
• Work from written briefs or tickets
• Share progress updates and delivery timelines
• Collaborate with engineers in Kyiv and stakeholders in London

• English level B2 or above (spoken and written)

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial web development experience
• English level B2 or above is essential
• Confident working independently as a freelancer
• Reliable availability during UK business days
• Responsive (able to acknowledge new work within 1 business day)

Nice To Have

• SEO implementation experience
• Ability to work from a Kyiv office once per month (optional but preferred)
