Our client is a fast-growing international iGaming startup building a new gaming business with global ambitions. As the company scales, they are looking for a Reconciliation Specialist to establish strong payment controls and build robust reconciliation processes from the ground up.
This is a highly important operational role sitting at the intersection of Payments, Finance, Risk, and IT. This is an excellent opportunity to join an early-stage business where your work will directly shape core financial operations and where the role offers clear career growth into broader payments operations, treasury, settlements, or finance ownership.
Key responsibilities and your contribution:
Reconciliation Operations
- Build and maintain the reconciliation framework for deposits and withdrawals across internal systems, PSP reports, bank statements, and, where relevant, wallet or crypto payment data.
- Set up the initial reconciliation model in Excel during the launch phase to validate matching logic, exception rules, and operational control processes.
- Support the future migration of reconciliation processes into internal automated systems.
Payment Transaction Control
- Reconcile deposit transaction flows, validating statuses and settlement outcomes across all payment providers.
- Investigate successful, failed, canceled, duplicated, missing, and amount-mismatch transactions.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between internal transaction statuses and provider-reported statuses.
Withdrawal & Settlement Control
- Reconcile withdrawal flows across internal systems, PSP statements, and banking data.
- Validate settlement flows and confirm receipt of funds into company accounts.
- Identify under-settlement, over-settlement, missing settlement references, and other settlement discrepancies.
- Monitor provider balances and ensure payment accuracy across all channels.
Exception Management & Investigation
- Investigate reconciliation breaks and transaction discrepancies end-to-end.
- Coordinate issue resolution with Operations, Finance, Risk, IT teams, and external payment providers where needed.
- Maintain clear and structured exception logs until full resolution.
- Validate PSP fees, refunds, reversals, chargebacks, and other payment adjustments impacting reconciliation accuracy.
Reporting & Process Development
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation reports and control summaries.
- Support month-end closing processes, audit preparation, and internal financial reviews.
- Define requirements for future reconciliation dashboards, exception monitoring tools, and automated controls.
- Contribute to building scalable payment control infrastructure as the business grows.
Your qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in reconciliation, payments operations, settlements, or finance operations.
- Strong experience in iGaming, PSP, fintech, or other high-volume online payment environments.
- Solid understanding of payment transaction flows, including deposits, withdrawals, settlements, refunds, chargebacks, reversals, and provider balances.
- Experience reconciling across multiple data sources, including internal platforms, PSP statements, and banking records.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large transaction-level datasets.
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to investigate issues independently and drive them through to resolution.
- Understanding of payment controls, settlement processes, and operational financial workflows.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have:
- Experience within iGaming payment operations.
- Experience with crypto payment reconciliations.
- Experience with reconciliation automation tools or payment control systems.
- Background in BI tools, automation projects, or drafting business requirements for IT teams.
- Understanding of fraud workflows, chargeback operations, and risk-related payment controls.
Benefits:
- A key ownership role within a fast-growing international iGaming startup.
- Opportunity to build reconciliation and payment control processes from the ground up.
- Clear career progression into broader payments, treasury, settlements, or finance operations leadership.
- Flexible work format (on-site in Dubai), with relocation support provided after the probation period, where required.
