Compliance Manager

Unifight Finance is a fintech company operating in the payments / merchant acquiring space.

We are building a regulated payments infrastructure in the UK — and key functions, including compliance, are being designed from scratch (not maintaining legacy systems).

We are looking for someone who doesn’t “maintain compliance” — but builds it properly from the ground up.

You will be:

• the owner of the regulatory compliance function
• the internal auditor who actually challenges the business
• the person who can say “this is a risk” — and fix it

What you’ll be doing

• Build and own the Safeguarding Framework (PSR 2017)
• Run real internal audits across Finance and Operations
• Ensure safeguarding accuracy (reconciliation, segregation, deadlines)
• Own the breach register and investigate root causes
• Manage regulatory reporting to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA Connect / RegData)
• Translate regulatory changes into real business processes
• Prepare board-level reporting (Compliance MI packs)
• Own Consumer Duty and conduct risk
• Ensure compliance with Visa / Mastercard frameworks (GARS / BRAM)

Who we’re looking for

• 5+ years in payments (EMI / PI / acquiring)
• Strong, hands-on knowledge of PSR 2017 and safeguarding
• Solid understanding of settlement cycles (T+1 / T+2)
• Experience submitting FCA reports
• Ability to identify issues — and actually resolve them

Not a fit if

• AML / Financial Crime only background
• Policy-only / theoretical compliance
• Banking compliance without payments exposure
• Consulting without ownership
